The last three Universes Beyond sets have pulled artwork from their respective source materials to generate bonus sheets that reprint some of Magic’s most iconic spells, Final Fantasy: Through the Ages used concept art from the video games. Marvel’s Spider-Man used comic book art, including works from Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. As for Avatar: The Last Airbender, we get… screenshots? I guess it’s more colorful and more complete than storyboard drawings. And what do you mean, they share a set code with the cards from the Beginner Box and the Jumpstart Boosters?
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I’d got you covered on everything related to Avatar’s bonus sheet, packed full of borderless source material art.
What Are the Source Material Cards in Avatar: The Last Airbender?

Force of Negation | Illustration by Viacom
Source Material cards in Avatar are a series of reprints that use screenshots from the original Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series in their art. Rather than credit an individual artist, that field on the card shows the episode from which the image was taken, using the same Book: Chapter format that the show uses for its episodes.
Unlike previous bonus sheet cards, the source material cards in Avatar: The Last Airbender don’t have a unique set code to distinguish them from the other cards that won’t be Standard legal, like the Jumpstart cards. They use the TLE set code, and don’t have a separate set name (unlike Final Fantasy: Through the Ages or Marvel Universe). Allow me to editorialize a little, but the organized collector in me does not like that.
How May Bonus Sheet Cards Are in Avatar?
There are 61 bonus sheet cards in Avatar: The Last Airbender, one for each episode of the original series.

Will Avatar’s Bonus Sheet Cards Be on Arena?
Yes, though you won’t be able to play every card in every format on the Magic: The Gathering Arena. In Historic, Force of Negation and Dark Depths have been banned ahead of release.
Are All Avatar Source Material Cards Mythic Rares?
Yes. All 61 of the Source Material cards for Avatar are mythic rares.
On Arena, cards from Through the Omenpaths bonus sheet were rarity-shifted, so it’s possible that Source Material cards from Avatar: The Last Airbender will be rarity-shifted there, too.
Are Avatar Bonus Sheet Cards Standard Legal?
No, with the exception of Imprisoned in the Moon and Fabled Passage. A bonus sheet reprint doesn’t change the current legalities of any of its cards, so only two cards from this collection of Source Material cards is Standard legal. Imprisoned in the Moon was reprinted in Foundations, while Fabled Passage was reprinted in Bloomburrow, so they’ll be Standard legal for a while yet.
The Most Valuable Source Material Cards from Avatar: The Last Airbender
Let’s take a look at some of the more valuable Source Material cards from Avatar: The Last Airbender Eternal. These reflect the lowest prices on TCGplayer based on available listings, as long as there isn’t a big gap between that and the market price.
As an honorable mention, here are some cards that have high list prices compared to their market price:
- Dockside Extortionist ($14.47 market price vs. $49.95 list price)
- Drannith Magistrate ($14.99 vs $49.99)
- Mystic Remora ($17.09 vs. $65.00)
These prices were taken from TCGplayer on November 10, 2025 and are subject to drastic changes over the next few days and week.
#5. Cruel Tutor – $33.00
This bonus sheet was an obvious opportunity to reprint cards from Portal and Portal Three Kingdoms, including Cruel Tutor. Black has no shortage of tutors now, but this is probably a better one if you have life loss triggers or if you want to chain it with some self-mill.
The choice of image for this card has been memed to oblivion, too, and I bet anyone that pulls one will at least smirk a little bit, if it doesn’t serve as a jump scare.
#4. Sakashima of a Thousand Faces – $33.95
I have no connection to the source material, but given that Joo Dee, One of Many isn’t a legendary creature in the main set, I think it probably makes sense that Joo Dee, Public Servant is a reprint of one of the most iconic clones that also doesn’t care about the legend rule, Sakashima of a Thousand Faces. This partner commander has been in need of a reprint since it's only appeared in Commander Legends and as a Secret Lair card that’s reimagined as a cereal box.
#3. Teferi’s Protection – $53.65
Teferi's Protection is one of the most powerful protective spells, one that gives you protection from everything, phases out all of your permanents, and prevents you from losing or gaining life until your next turn. It’s a staple of high-power decks so that they can survive until their next turn to enact their win condition.
#2. Force of Negation – $56.88
Force of Negation is one of Magic’s most powerful counterspells since you can exile a blue card from your hand to cast it for free. It also sends the spells it counters to exile rather than its owner’s graveyard. This artwork comes from the last episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and it depicts Aang while he depowers Ozai and removes his bending abilities.
#1. The Great Henge – $78.09
The Great Henge is among Magic’s most powerful mana rocks. It belongs in big creature decks, which is firmly in green’s wheelhouse. It’s a staple of dinosaur decks and Animar, Soul of Elements decks, and it goes infinite with repeatable sacrifice outlets like the various altars and a persist creature. It turns all your nontoken creatures into cantrips, and it buffs them with +1/+1 counters as they enter. It’s an incredibly good card that’ll never go out of style.
Wrap Up

The Great Henge | Illustration by Viacom
There are many good reprints in this bonus sheet, enough that there should be something for nearly everyone. I’ll probably try to track down a print of Heartbeat of Spring for the Gluntch, the Bestower deck I’m slowly assembling, and I have plenty of decks that want a Beastmaster Ascension or a Heroic Intervention.
I do feel for my dyslexic pals, though, because these borderless Source Material cards aren’t the easiest to read, especially when there’s a lot of text. And for the newer players, they don’t have reminder text for the more niche abilities that they may not have encountered as often, like cumulative upkeep or replicate.
