Every once in a while, Wizards tries a new iteration on one of their product lines. We’ve seen many different booster types over the years, and fat packs evolved into bundles. We eventually got gift bundles, and now, Avatar: The Last Airbender has introduced the Commander’s Bundle.

What comes in a Commander’s Bundle? And is it worth the investment? I’ve got it all broken down for you.

What Is a Commander’s Bundle?

A Commander’s Bundle is an extension of Magic’s Bundles, formerly called fat packs, and they’re much like Gift Bundles. They contain a certain number of boosters from a given set, usually majority Play Boosters and one Collector Booster, and a collection of lands.

Commander’s Bundles are fairly unique because they contain some Commander staple cards; like the Foundations Starter Collection, they contain a Sol Ring, an Arcane Signet, and a Swiftfoot Boots. They also contain Booster Fun cards chosen from among 10 Commander staples.

What Comes in a Commander’s Bundle?

Per the WPN website, The Avatar Commander’s Bundle contains:

  • 2 of 10 Avatar: The Last Airbender Commander’s Bundle Booster Fun cards
  • 9 Avatar: The Last Airbender Play Boosters
  • 1 Avatar: The Last Airbender Collector Booster
  • Special Avatar: The Last Airbender versions of Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, and Swiftfoot Boots
  • 10 Appa lands (5 traditional foil, 5 non-foil)
  • 10 traditional foil basic lands
  • 10 non-foil basic lands
  • 1 Avatar: The Last Airbender click-wheel
  • 1 card box

Of note, the packaging mentions that the Avatar Commander’s Bundle contains Avatar’s Journey basics, but the bundle isn’t guaranteed to have them. Avatar’s Journey basics can appear in the Play Boosters or in the Collector Booster, though.

The Booster Fun cards are from among Avatar: The Last Airbender Eternal #305-314:

These are all reprints of the five Commander free spells from Commander 2020 plus a tutor in each color.

How Much Does a Commander’s Bundle Cost?

The MSRP of an Avatar Commander’s Bundle is $109.99. Your local game store (LGS) and your favorite online retailers are likely to ask more, though. At the time of writing, the lowest listing on TCGplayer is around $195, up from $150 before the Booster Fun cards were spoiled.

When Does the Avatar Commander’s Bundle Release?

The Avatar Commander’s Bundle officially releases on November 21, 2025. If your LGS is a WPN Premium location, you may be able to pick up an Avatar Commander’s Bundle a week early during Avatar: The Last Airbender prereleases on November 14.

Best Commander’s Bundles

#1. Avatar Commander’s Bundle

Avatar Commander's Bundle

The Avatar Commander’s Bundle introduced this product to Magic, and it combines the perks of a Gift Bundle: nine Play Boosters, one Collector Booster, and 30 lands. Rather than the usual oversize spindown counter that comes in Bundles and Gift Bundles, you get an Avatar click-wheel.

The Commander Bundle comes with extra, format-focused perks. There’s guaranteed, Avatar-flavored prints of Arcane Signet, Sol Ring, and Swiftfoot Boots, and you get two out of a possible 10 Avatar reprints of Commander staples. And it’s not all scrubs, either: The Commander 2020 free spells are all reprinted, alongside one tutor in each color. That’s five guaranteed cards you’ll want for one Commander deck or another, whether you build from scratch or improve an existing deck.

This isn't counting the potential value in the boosters themselves. More Commander staples could appear if you pull one of the bonus sheet cards that feature art pulled from screenshots of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Commander’s Bundle vs. Normal Bundles

Avatar: The Last Airbender bundle

Commander’s Bundles are more like Gift Bundles than normal Bundles. A Commander’s Bundle offers you a Collector Booster, like a Gift Bundle, but also five Commander staples (the guaranteed Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, and Swiftfoot Boots, plus two special Booster Fun cards). You also get a clickdown counter rather than the usual oversize spindown counters.

Is a Commander’s Bundle Worth It?

From a pure numbers perspective, a Commander’s Bundle is very worth it if you find it for the MSRP of $109.99, or close to it.

Looking at the Avatar Commander’s Bundle, it contains a Collector Booster (MSRP: $37.99) and nine Play Boosters (MSRP: $6.99 each). On their own, those total about $100 of value. Then consider that there’s 30 lands, including some foils and Appa arts, plus three Commander staples with exclusive art: Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, and Swiftfoot Boots. Since these prints are only available in this product, I expect them to be worth more than the usual reprints we get in Commander precons, and these three cards and the 30 lands should more than make up for the remaining $10.

You also have two out of a possible 10 Booster Fun cards, reprints of spells that only appear in these slots, not in any other Avatar product. Besides the actual booster contents, these are lottery ticket slots that could make the individual bundle you open worth a lot more that the price you pay. These Booster Fun cards are almost all money cards in their other prints, since the cycle of Commander 2020 free spells is here in full and there are five possible tutors in the other slots. There’s a fair amount of variation; other Fierce Guardianship prints are usually worth somewhere in the $40-50 range as of early November, 2025, but Obscuring Haze is in the $5-8 range. Most of the tutors are around $10-20 range. But regardless of what you pull, the Commander’s Bundle should be worth it.

Given all of that, I think that an Avatar Commander’s Bundle should be worth your money for up to about $140-150, if we estimate that those Booster Fun cards will be worth somewhere between $15-20 each. This all presumes that Avatar boosters sell for their MSRP, but the product’s popularity and other factors could affect the prices at different sources. If you’re shopping for a Bundle, compare different sources, both for the Commander’s Bundle and the boosters it contains.

The Avatar Commander’s Bundle is a worthwhile option if you’re looking for a gift for a Magic lover in your life, whether they’re an avid Commander player or just starting out. The boosters alone are worth the price of admission, while the Booster Fun cards could make a big splash. If you find it even remotely close to the MSRP of $109.99, it has a high likelihood to be a steal.
