Marvel Super Heroes could be one of the yearโs biggest Magic sets if it draws in new players, and it certainly has some fascinating cards. The Marvel Universe Source Material bonus sheet has awesome reprints and the main set, Jumpstart product, and Commander decks arenโt lacking, either.
Green looks lean and aggressive this set, with several notable commanders and one or two cards that seem destined for staple status in Commander. Letโs dive into the upgrades and new toys MSH offers green!
What Are Green Cards in Marvel Super Heroes?

Wolverine, Claws Out | Illustration by Ryan Pancoast
Green cards in Marvel Super Heroes have a green color identity and include cards from the main set, with the code MSH, the Commander precons and Jumpstart products with the code MSC, and the Marvel Universe bonus sheet, with code MAR. This list considers all of them through the lens of Standard and Commander, though not all of the bonus sheet cards are Standard legal.
Best Reprints and Bonus Sheet Cards
#3. Steely Resolve
This is the first proper Steely Resolve reprint since its release in Onslaught, with the only other print being a Secret Lair run. Typal decks love this protection because your opponents canโt target your creaturesโitโs board wipe or bust, and green has plenty of protection from Damnation. Just donโt play this in a deck that wants to target its creatures.
#2. Force of Vigor
Force of Vigor provides excellent artifact hate because itโs free and rather pushed. Pitch spells like Force of Will are balanced around card disadvantage; itโs a two-for-one against you to counter a spell with FoW. But FoV can hit two targets, so you often end up even on cards and even get to exile the threats for permanent disruption.
#1. Heroic Intervention

No matter how many times itโs reprinted, Heroic Intervention always seems to cost $15 because itโs among the gameโs best protection spells. Board-wide indestructible and hexproof handles most removal spells your opponents can throw at you. Two mana is cheap enough that you can rebuff a board wipe or Swords to Plowshares without feeling bad, which makes it pretty flexible.
Best New Cards
#13. Tigra, Feline Fury
I generally look down on Ajani's Pridemate as a miserable slow threat, but trample makes it more interesting. The legendary rule probably kills that power boost since it prevents truly disgusting board states, but I could see a budget Selesnya deck fighting through Standard.
#12. Claim the Kingdom
A 2-mana enchantment with โlandfall: Place a +1/+1 counterโ is pretty strong, and Claim the Kingdom works up to a strong climax. I like the idea of playing this, then building up to an indestructible counter for your commander. The biggest issue it faces is stiff competition with Bristly Bill, Spine Sower and Scythecat Cub.
#11. Itโs Clobberinโ Time!
It's Clobberin' Time! has one of the more cringe names from the crossover, but it isnโt bad removal. Itโs always a two-for-one and kills a range of permanent types. Even if you lose your big creature between casting the first copy and getting the rebound, thereโs bound to be an artifact you can hit.
#10. Earthโs Mightiest Heroes
Earth's Mightiest Heroes isnโt the first effect of its kind, but cards like Turntimber Symbiosis and Ureni of the Unwritten generally cost more mana. Then you need to consider the teamwork cost, which makes it even stronger for some reason? Itโs not like green lacks ways to get a 5-power creature before turn 6. The card costs too much for most Constructed formats, but it could be a serious problem in casual EDH.
#9. Nakia, Wakandan Operative
Becoming the monarch is an extremely powerful action, and few cards let you do it repeatedly. Since Nakia, Wakandan Operative makes you the monarch when your commander enters, your opponents can never hold onto it for long. While you probably donโt want to recast your commander ad nauseam, this looks like a great staple for flicker decks. An instant-speed flicker steals the monarch back before your opponents reach their end step!
#8. Bushmaster, Coiled Henchman
Bushmaster, Coiled Henchman gives +1/+1 counter decks a potent finisher. It takes no effort to give your creatures trample in green, either with dedicated +1/+1 counter support like Kodama of the West Tree or generic green goodies like Garruk's Uprising. Throw in deathtouch and those massive creatures only need to deal 1 point of damage to kill a threat, sending the rest at your opponents. It also means that no matter how many creatures your opponents block with, your big creatures trade at an excellent rate.
#7. Return of the Mole Man
Return of the Mole Man offers self-mill decks an extremely potent package. Milling two cards with landfall fills the graveyard fast, especially with a commander like Teval, the Balanced Scale thatโs already messing around with lands. Then the slew of tokens gives you a late-game payoff to rebuild after a board wipe.
#6. Call Damage Control
Call Damage Control provide self-mill decks with extremely solid card advantage. Itโs obviously more restrictive than Regrowth but it also just draws two cards for 2 mana, a rate surprisingly on par with many blue draw spells. It works best in delirium decks that play enchantment creatures, artifact lands, and other multi-typed cards.
#5. Fight for the Throne
A card doesnโt need to be complex to be good. Fight for the Throne kills a threat and makes you the monarch for a crippling two-for-one with a great ceiling. Importantly, the creature that fights doesnโt need to be your commander, nor does it need to survive the fight, so you should have no trouble enabling this.
#4. Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu
Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu packs two powerful abilities into a Grizzly Bears. Pseudo-haste for mana dorks leads to very impressive turns, especially with dorks that tap for multiple mana, like Circle of Dreams Druid and Bloom Tender. Shang-Chiโs mana production is limited, but plenty of cards like Walking Ballista and Kenrith, the Returned King have strong activated abilities.
#3. World War Hulk
The Etali, Primal Conqueror players are drooling over World War Hulk getting their commander out early, and I canโt blame them. This is a pretty unique saga because the rest of the card is mostly irrelevant; everybody just wants to spend 5 mana to cast spells that should cost 7 or 8 or even more. Importantly, it skirts the command tax, giving you easy access to an expensive commander.
#2. Mole Man, Moloid Master
Crucible of Worlds is completely washed in 2026 because Wizards keeps printing versions of the effect with more and more text. Mole Man, Moloid Master lets you play lands from your graveyard, has a landfall trigger to pay you off for doing so, and self-mills to fuel itself. If Wizards keeps pumping out cards like this and Icetill Explorer, thereโs going to be little reason to run Crucible anymore.
#1. The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl
Everybody seems to think Emrakul could break free in Reality Fracture, but luckily The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is here to whip up a squad to assassinate the titan!
I really like this design because itโs flexible. Squirrel Girl has a straightforward design for the new-to-Magic players attracted by the crossover, but enough power and combo potential to interest enfranchised players. You can go pretty casual with squirrels and tokens and overruns or push for a stronger build that turns the commander into an infinite combo machine. Those are all signs of a good commander in my book.
Wrap Up

Shang-Chi, Martial Mentor | Illustration by Aleksi Briclot
Green got delightful toys in Marvel Super Heroes between the many associated products. I expect Mole Man and World War Hulk to become staples in Commander, and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl feels like it could become one of the more popular commanders from the setโI canโt wait to see how it stacks up against other mono-green commanders in a few months.
