Legibility be damned, it seems like “source material” is going to be the bonus sheet for Universes Beyond sets going forward, at least when there’s enough visual material available. No screenshots of Martin Freeman & co. in my Hobbit set, please. Unless it’s Benedict Cumberbatch’s raw mo-cap footage.

But let’s focus on the present moment. Marvel Super Heroes expands on the bonus sheet we saw in Marvel’s Spider-Man with even more classic panels in our favorite silly little trading card game. We’ve got our share of staples, but this sheet makes a point to reprint some cards that have been hard to track down, whether they’re Secret Lair exclusives or bonus sheet/booster insert cards found within a larger set.

Yes! MSH bonus sheet cards appear in Play Boosters, so you may find them in your Sealed or Draft pools. However, they only appear in roughly 1 in every 24 boosters, so you’re unlikely to see many of them, unlike sets like Outlaws of Thunder Junction or Secrets of Strixhaven that have a guaranteed bonus sheet slot.

Non-foil Source Material cards are found both in MSH Play Boosters and MSH Collector Boosters. In Play Boosters, they replace a common in about 1 in every 24 boosters.

Collector Boosters have a guaranteed slot for MAR cards, which is non-foil in 75% of boosters and foil in the other 25%. MSH Collector Boosters also have a non-foil Booster Fun slot that contains a Source Material card 4.5% of the time.

Will Marvel Super Heroes Bonus Sheet Cards Be on Arena?

Yes! Marvel Super Heroes cards, including the Marvel Universe bonus sheet cards, will be on Arena. Any card that already existed on the platform at a lower rarity than mythic rare can be crafted for its lowest existing rarity.

Will Through the Omenpaths Affect These Cards?

No. Wizards have announced that Marvel Super Heroes cards are coming to Arena without a Through the Omenpaths treatment.

Are Marvel Universe Cards Standard Legal?

Not necessarily. A card’s appearance in a bonus sheet doesn’t change its format legality or add it to Standard, even if the bonus sheet appears in a Standard set.

Cards that were already legal in Standard, like Anthem of Champions or Simulacrum Synthesizer, remain legal in Standard, while cards that aren’t, like No Mercy or Defense of the Heart, are not. This is especially true for Monstrous Rage, which would be legal in Standard if it weren’t banned.

The Most Valuable Source Material Cards from Marvel Super Heroes

These prices were taken from TCGplayer on June 16th, 2026 and are subject to drastic changes over the next few days and week.

5. Captain America, First Avenger – $51.91

There are so many ways to take advantage of Captain America, First Avenger. You naturally want huge mana value equipment and the ability to reduce their costs or cheat them into play, and Jeskai () has lots of artifact and equipment tutors to grab the answer you need, when you need it.

4. Doom Variant (Roaming Throne) – $54.50

Roaming Throne is one of the best typal support cards printed in recent memory. A colorless Panharmonicon that also shapeshifts into the creature you’ve built around is playable everywhere, at least as long as you’ve got some kind of triggers to double. Ninjas, allies, heroes, villains, goblins, satyrs, bats… Roaming Throne raises the ceiling when you’ve got something good going on, and it raises the floor for mediocre or under-supported creature types.

3. T’Challa’s Protection (Teferi’s Protection) – $55.99

A Commander Game Changer that always needs more reprints, Teferi's Protection is one of white’s best ways to save you or your permanents from certain doom, especially since it saves you for a whole turn around the table in multiplayer matches. The reskin as T'Challa's Protection is very fitting.

2. Wolverine, Best There Is – $58.94

All of the Marvel Secret Lair commanders are good and popular, and the speed with which they sold out in their original printing shows that there’s a strong market for them.

Wolverine, Best There Is has the perfect combination of abilities for Gruul () aggro, between built-in damage doubling, an ability that gives it +1/+1 counters, and some on-flavor regeneration. Punch spells make sure you get its triggers, especially instant-speed ones so you can damage other creatures during your opponent’s turns. Gruul has access to some extra combat combos, and Wolverine, Claws Out is a perfect way to get an even higher damage output.

1. Extinction Event – $59.99

As the card chosen to depict The Snap (or The Blip, if you prefer), one of the most iconic moments in Marvel comics history and the cliffhanger at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it’s no surprise that Extinction Event is among the most sought-after Marvel Universe cards in MSH. The base card from Ikoria goes for less than a buck, so I’d personally wait for the set to be out a while before I bought a single of this.

One thing I’ll say for the Marvel Super Heroes entry into the Marvel Universe bonus sheet is that I appreciate the effort to reprint cards that have been tough to get. The Secret Lair heroes and booster inserts like Ravenous Tyrannosaurus from Jurassic World (The Lost Caverns of Ixalan) and Simulacrum Synthesizer from The Big Score (Outlaws of Thunder Junction) are awesome cards that deserve to be more accessible. The Ashcoat reprint in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles bonus sheet was a good start, and I hope this trend continues.

What are your thoughts on the bonus sheet cards for Marvel Super Heroes? Are there other cards that you wish had been reprinted, or is there a cover or frame from the Marvel comics archive that you want to see on a Magic card?
