Terra, Herald of Hope | Illustration by Marta Nael
Magic players love several things: a good game, a Sol Ring in the opening hand, and a great deal, which I have for you today: a selection of excellent deals on Commander precons from Amazon. Whether you need to jumpstart your collection or just want something new to toy with, one of these deals might be what you need:
Living Energy – $28
Living Energy is the cheapest selection on the list at a mere $28. To be fair, this isn’t so much a deal as the price of a rather unrespected precon that went under many people’s radar. It was the third energy precon in a short time frame and contained some of the lesser energy cards, but don’t let that dissuade you: It’s a fun deck and Saheeli, Radiant Creator is a pretty sick energy commander. The deck needs upgrades, but Living Energy cleans up real well with a little care.
Revival Trance – $40
Revival Trance has a higher price, but the discount is quite notable: the Final Fantasy precons are some of the most expensive and are generally in high demand given the set’s immense popularity. It has some issues—the reanimation theme stands at odds with Terra, Herald of Hope’s abilities, but it’s still lots of fun and has a host of Commander staples like Reanimate, Pitiless Plunderer, and Stitcher's Supplier.
World Shaper – $47
World Shaper has the highest price here, but that’s understandable considering it’s one of the stronger decks here—perhaps the strongest. Hearthhull, the Worldseed is one of the strongest commanders on the list and the lands engine goes extremely hard. You can upgrade the deck easily with fetch lands and landfall payoffs. One of its best features are how many staples it has: Titania, Protector of Argoth, Baloth Prime, Oracle of Mul Daya, Aftermath Analyst…. is a grab bag of staples for any lands commander, not just Hearthhull.
Blight Curse – $36
Blight Curse is one of the two Lorwyn Eclipsed precons on sale this weak and it’s a pretty decent price. This deck is significant because the commanders, Auntie Ool, Cursewretch and The Reaper, King No More have reignited players’ interest in -1/-1 counter decks, aided by reprinting nearly all the major staples plus new support. Upgrades are useful, as they always are with precons, but Blight Curse is one of the most complete decks on the list and the only one I personally own.
Dance of the Elements – $39
2026 has many commanders and precons yet to come, but I suspect Dance of the Elements and its commander, Ashling, the Limitless, will stand out when December rolls around. Ashling’s already in the top 10 5-color commanders on EDHREC and Lorwyn Ecliped’s most popular commander.
The elemental typal precon has taken characters by storm. One of the deck’s best features is how customizable it is. Elementals have plenty of general typal support, you can lean into flicker shenanigans with Ashling’s evoke ability…many obscure cards have also become relevant due to Ashling, like Graveshifter. Dance of the Elements a great place to start a Magic collection or a cool deck to tinker with—here’s a list of recommended upgrades.
