Every good late night pizza place has some kind of bundle deal. Sometimes it’s a free appetizer or 2L soda when you buy certain sizes and quantity of pizza, while others just give you the straight BOGO deal. Heck, some places even call themselves something like 2-4-1 Pizza and use those digits in their phone number just to get the point across that their prices get better when you bundle their offerings together.
And speaking of Pizza Bundles… man, what a cheesy transition. Yeah, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set comes with its own designer booster bundle to whet the appetites of those TMNT and Magic fans that want something extra but don’t want to extend into booster box territory.
Before we get going, I just want to say that I think every LGS manager out there is very happy that Wizards didn’t take the Taylor Swift vinyl route and give us Pizza Bundles in multiple editions. TMNT Pizza Bundle: Pep ‘N’ Cheese Edition. Or New York Edition. Or Meat Lovers, Supreme, Veggie Lovers, Hawaiian, Phyrexian, Plain Ol’ Cheese…. Oh, the endless SKUs and headaches that would create.
What Is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Bundle?

Island | Illustration by Gaboleps
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Bundle is a Magic: The Gathering product that’s part of their collaboration with Viacom on the TMT Magic set. It contains a few more goodies that a typical bundle does, and it’s packaged in a box that resembles a delivery or takeout pizza box. No word yet on whether the box is commercially compostable.
The closest recent comparable product is the Avatar Commander's Bundle, which had similar contents.

How Many Promos Come in a TMNT Pizza Bundle?
A TMNT Pizza Bundle contains two (2) of the six (6) promo cards.
Does the Pizza Bundle Include Pizza Basic Lands?
Yes! The TMNT Pizza Bundle contains 30 total pizza basic lands. You get one of each basic land in a traditional foil treatment, plus five of each basic land in non-foil. The Collector Booster may also contain a pizza land.
TMNT Pizza Bundle vs. Normal Bundle?
The TMNT Pizza Bundle contains a Collector Booster in addition to the Play Boosters, and the spindown die is different than the one in the regular TMNT Bundle. The lands are also all pizza lands, while the normal bundle contains rooftop full-art lands and the typical basic lands from the TMT set.
The Pizza Bundle comes with two of six possible promo cards that are borderless foil reprints of some staple Magic cards with TMNT-inspired artwork. The Pizza Bundle also comes in packaging that’s designed to look like a pizza box, so the card storage box is also a different shape than your usual bundle box.
Is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Bundle Worth It?
I’m going to suppose that you’re into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set in the first place. If the set isn’t your slice of pizza (who orders anchovies?!?), then the TMNT Pizza Bundle won’t be worth it unless you’re gambling on the resale value of its contents.
At the MSRP level, you get what you pay for: At $99.99, you get a slight bargain compared to a separate purchase of 9 Play Boosters ($6.99 each) and 1 Collector Booster ($37.99). The pizza lands, which are exclusive to this bundle and Collector Boosters, are a bonus, as are the promo cards. I personally like virtually any full-art land just as a baseline, so they have value to my collector profile, but they may be a marginal inclusion for you.
As for those promo cards, they can push the value of this bundle over the top. Commander's Plate and Food Chain each go for over $40 in their other printings, and Sword of Hearth and Home hovers in the $15-20 range. The other three cards are usually in the $5-10 range if not lower depending on the printing, but they’re useful staples. You’re still gambling on which promo cards you get, but there’s a smaller pool of cards than the Avatar Commander's Bundle.
If you’re a TMNT fan or you like the TMT Magic set in general, the Pizza Bundle can be a good way to collect a small chunk of the set without buying a full booster box. It’s got a little more than the regular TMT Bundle, plus you’re guaranteed 30 pizza lands, which aren’t found in Play Boosters. It all depends on the price you pay, but the borderless foil treatments of the promo cards should help to keep these prints at a higher value than usual ones.
Wrap Up

Everything Pizza | Illustration by James Bousema
The TMNT Pizza Bundle continues the trend of Magic Bundles that offer you a lil’ something extra over the usual bundle contents. Gift Bundles are the template, but we’ve seen Aetherdrift’s Finish Line Bundle, Duskmourn’s Nightmare Bundle, and the Avatar Commander's Bundle take things further with flavorful inclusions. Given the Turtles’ affinity for pizza, it makes total sense for this to be the theme. Wait, affinity for pizza… why didn’t affinity for food or devour food make a comeback from Lord of the Rings?
