Hello planeswalkers! Iโm sure if youโve been playing this game long enough, youโve seen or hopefully received some expensive cards. We can all read the headlines about Black Lotus and The One Ring, but what about the lesser-known types of cards? Thatโs right, today weโre talking about the most expensive tokens.
Players often don't give tokens a second thought. However, some tokens are rare collectables and can be used as wonderful promotional pieces. Many of the most expensive tokens are from unique promotions or events, or they come from an exclusive market like Japan. Donโt be so hasty in tossing your tokens, because they may be worth something!
All prices were taken from TCGplayer as of July 2025, and are subject to change over time.
What Counts as an Expensive Token in MTG?

Sliver Token | Illustration by Tony Szczudlo
There are so many ways you could break this down. I kept it real simple. I used the website TCGplayer.com and ordered the list by market price. This hopefully averages out some sales and provides a somewhat easy way for you to find these tokens if youโre interested.
I didnโt include the oversized cards and some cards where it was hard to find many copies being sold.
#80. Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Goblin Shaman Token โ $8.53

If weโre counting expensive tokens, just how far should we go? I picked the arbitrary line of the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Goblin Shaman token.
