Grave Sifter | Illustration by Jesper Ejsing
This week has been fairly quiet for Magic price spikes, but more than a few cards have seen sharp upticks. As with last week, many of these can be connected to the upcoming release of Lorwyn Eclipsed, with a focus on upgrading the Blight Curse and Dance of the Elements precons.
Grave Sifter โ 1307%
A mostly unremarkable card from Commander 2014โs Guided by Nature precon, Grave Sifter saw a huge peak this week as an upgrade for Dance of the Elements.

The synergy lies in stacking triggers: When evoked with Ashling, the Limitless, the enters triggers can be stacked such that Grave Sifterโs evoke trigger, to sacrifice it, resolves before the mass Raise Dead, allowing you to redraw the Grave Sifter and providing constant access to elementals in your graveyard.
Rumbleweed โ 711%
Another mover thanks to Dance of the Elements, Rumbleweed offers a straightforward power boost to one of Lorwyn Eclipsedโs hottest commanders.

Since Ashling, the Limitless makes a token copy of an evoked Rumbleweed, you get two enters abilitiesโthatโs +6/+6 and trample for mana. And you get an 8/8 to attack with! Itโs one of the deckโs most concise finishers.
Quillspike โ 456%
Okay, enough about Dance of the ElementsโBlight Curse deserves so love, and it gets it in Quillspike.

The primary reason to run Quillspike is its infinite combo with Devoted Druid, which makes Quillspike infinitely large and applies infinite -1/-1 counters for the purposes of Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, Nest of Scarabs, and other cards that care about it.
Generous Patron โ 526%
Generous Patronโs spike belongs to another ECL commander, but this time, not one from the precons: High Perfect Morcant, a powerful new elf commander that loves spreading counters around via blight and proliferate.

While Generous Patron doesnโt have a super straightforward interaction with blight (more on that here), it pulls off great tricks. It works with Morcantโs proliferate ability to draw cards like a blue spell, and often serves as a typal-themed [cardDivination[/card] on its own. High Perfect Morcant looks primed to be an amazing commander, and this will be one of its strongest support pieces.
Withered Wretch โ 187%
An oddball card from Legions, Withered Wretch has seen a respectable spike, likely due to its prominence in Premodern as a graveyard hate piece in black decks.

Premodern was recently added to MTGO, which has likely drawn more eyes to the format. It isnโt surprising to see a staple spike with that in mind; in a format with decks leaning on busted graveyard cards like Recurring Nightmare and Reanimate, you canโt turn down down, instant-speed interaction.
Fiery Islet โ 62%
Fiery Isletโspecifically the extended art print from Doctor Whoโs preconโhas seen a modest but noticeable price jump this week.

Other printings of the Modern staple land are holding their value this week with no major trends, so itโs unclear what motivated this particular spike.
