Greetings, planeswalkers! Today we take a look at the upcoming Chocobo Bundle, coming to stores in December 2025. The Chocobo Bundle follows up the runaway success of Final Fantasy with new full-art Chocobo basics, an exclusive promo card, and a whole โnestโ of other Final Fantasy goodies.
The Chocobo Bundle could make for a great Christmas gift for that special Magic: The Gathering player in your life!
What Is the Final Fantasy Chocobo Bundle?

The Final Fantasy Chocobo Bundle is a new product that bundles Final Fantasy Play boosters with a bunch of other new Final Fantasy stuff. Itโs timed for release around the holidays, and it may have been a response to Final Fantasyโs insane sales.
What Comes in a Final Fantasy Chocobo Bundle?
A Chocobo Bundle contains:
- 10 Final Fantasy Play boosters
- A 12-card Chocobo booster
- 1 Traditional foil alt-art promo card (Birds of Paradise)
- 1 of 24 Borderless Final Fantasy Scene cards
- 32 Final Fantasy Landmark full-art basic lands (16 traditional foil, 16 regular)
- A special click wheel life counter
- A Chocobo Edition card box
How Much Does a Chocobo Bundle Cost?
Chocobo Bundles are currently listed for around $366+ on TCGplayer. While the MSRP for the product was originally about $110, collectors and fans have already swooped in and driven prices sky high. If you ever see any Chocobo Bundles for $100~ at your local game store (or general stores like Best Buy and Wal-Mart), highly consider picking one up!
When Does the Final Fantasy Chocobo Bundle Release?
The official release date listed for the Final Fantasy Chocobo Bundle is December 5th, 2025.
What Is a Chocobo Booster?
A Chocobo Booster is a special kind of booster pack thatโs unique to the Chocobo Bundle. It contains 10 full-art Chocobo basic lands and 2 of 20 Borderless Chocobo Bundle cards that are rare or higher.

How Many Borderless Cards Come in a Chocobo Bundle?
Each Chocobo Bundle contains one Chocobo booster, which has two Borderless Chocobo Bundle cards.
There are 20 borderless cards in total that are exclusive to the Chocobo Bundle. Eight of them are reprints from the main Final Fantasy set, and 11 are reprints of Final Fantasy Commander cards (Snapcaster Mage is the lone exception). All of these have exclusive new art done by Japanese artists. They are also all equally likely to be opened, so itโs irrelevant whether they were previously rares or mythic rares.
What Are the Chocobo Track Basic Lands?

Chocobo Track lands are exclusive foil full-art basic lands that come with each Chocobo Bundle. All Chocobo Bundles come with 10 full-art basics in total, which presumably will be two Plains, two Islands, two Swamps, two Mountains, and two Forests.
What Is the Chocobo Track Foil Treatment?
The Chocobo Track foil treatment is the exclusive foil treatment you can see on the Chocobo basics. It helps bring to life the worlds they depict, which come from five different Final Fantasy games.
Final Fantasy Chocobo Bundles vs. Final Fantasy Scene Boxes
The Chocobo Bundle isnโt the only upcoming bonus Final Fantasy product, as there will also be Scene Boxes that release on December 5th. These are similar to the Scene Boxes introduced with The Lord of the Rings, and they contain new borderless cards that make a โsceneโ when combined!
One thing worth noting about the Chocobo Bundle is that it always includes 1 out of 24 of these Scene cards! You may end up with duplicates if you buy both products.
Which of the Two Should I Purchase?
Ultimately thatโs your decision! The Chocobo Bundle was listed at $60 MSRP above these Scene Boxes, and it will likely be more expensive than it was listed. The Scene Boxes on the other hand still seem to be available for around $40-60. If you have a particular affinity for one Final Fantasy game and want sweet cards from it, Iโd recommend the Scene Box. However, if youโre looking for an exciting gift for that special Magic fan in your life, a Chocobo Bundle seems much more exciting!
Is a Chocobo Bundle Worth It?
It depends on how much you pay for it! If you can find a Chocobo Bundle near MSRP, the answer is a slam dunk Yes. Ten Final Fantasy Play boosters alone is at least $70 at this point, so you get a ton of awesome bonuses for just over $30! On the other hand, if you pay around $300 for a Chocobo Bundle, the extra contents would need to carry $230+ worth of value.
We donโt yet have market prices for any of the new lands or promos, as they have yet to be released. But letโs say each Chocobo full-art land ends up valued around $5. That would give you $50 from the Chocobo booster in expected value (EV), plus two promo cards.
There will likely be a lot of variance in how valuable those promos are; maybe this new art of Vivi Ornitier is $100+ again? Or perhaps fans really want that exclusive Snapcaster Mage treatment? Either way, if you get around $50 from both promos combined, the Chocobo Booster itself would be about $100 in EV.

The Birds of Paradise promoโs price depends on how much of this product is opened. Birds of Paradise has been reprinted many, many times, so this particular art will have to carry high demand to be worth more than a couple of bucks. Weโll say $25 as a starting point.
The Scene cards come from products that are selling for around $40-60 at stores. This puts a hard limit on how expensive any of them can truly be, so youโre unlikely to make more than a couple of bucks from any of them. Weโll say $5 for simplicity here.
The 32 Final Fantasy full-arts are the same ones from the main set. While I like these arts, theyโre rather cheap online, with even foil ones going for under 50 cents. The EV from 32 lands here is around $5 again.
Lastly, the click wheel and Chocobo Edition card box are cool but minor additions that are unlikely to be worth much (though some click wheels end up being pricey). As such, we can add up everything:
- $70 (Play boosters)
- $50 (full-art lands)
- $50 (expected promo value, possibly a low estimate)
- $25 (Birds of Paradise)
- $5 (Scene Card)
- $5 (Final Fantasy Lands)
- Total estimated balue = $205.
Wrap Up

Iโd recommend that you pick up a Chocobo Bundle or two if you can find them for around $200 or less. Current prices seem very inflated, and whether they hold depends on how much the secondary market loves these promos. Iโd personally love to pick up a playset of the bundleโs Yuna, Hope of Spira, though the secondary market may have other ideas for me!
I hope you found this useful, and that your holidays are full of cheer and good pulls from whatever Magic products you buy. Let me know what you think about the Chocobo Bundleโs cards and arts in the comments below or on the Draftsim Discord.
