Kwia Vigorbloom (Reality Fracture) - art by Ryan Pancoast

Kwia Vigorbloom has one of the most exciting abilities in Reality Fracture: It makes Lotus tokens when you gain life, restricted to once each turn. But thatโ€™s more than enough fodder to build infinite combos with. Hereโ€™s three great Kwia combos and how to win with them.

Emiel the Blessed + Soul Warden

This first combo uses a very familiar infinite combo enabler: Emiel the Blessed. You need to control all three permanents and have to activate Emiel.

  1. Activate Emiel, targeting Kwia.
  2. Kwia flickers, triggering Soul Warden to gain a life when it enters.
  3. Kwia makes a Lotus token, which pays for the next Emiel activation.

You might be asking how this works when Kwia restricts your Lotus creation to once per turn, and itโ€™s because we flicker it. The โ€œonce per turnโ€ clause is tracked by that instance of Kwia. When it leaves play and re-enters, thatโ€™s a brand new Kwia that hasnโ€™t made a Lotus yet.

This combo, and the following, result in these outcomes:

  • Infinite creatures entering/leaving the battlefield
  • Infinite life gained/lifegain triggers
  • Infinite artifact enters/leaves/sacrifice triggers

This combo has lots of substitutes since thereโ€™s about a billion Soul Sisters you can run instead of Soul Warden.

Oltec Matterweaver + Whitemane Lion

This combo doesnโ€™t require Kwia in play. All you need is Oltec Matterweaver and the Lotus token (which is why Kwia counts as part of the combo). You also need Whitemane Lion in hand and the mana to cast it.

  1. Cast Whitemane Lion, triggering Matterweaver.
  2. Target the Lotus token with Matterweaver.
  3. The stack resolves: You make a Lotus, then Whitemane enters.
  4. When Whitemane enters, bounce it with its enters ability.
  5. Crack the second Lotus token for , then recast Whitemane, netting .

This has most of the same result as the previous combo, except it doesnโ€™t gain life and it adds infinite mana of all colors to the results.

Flickering Hound + Soul Warden + Whitemane Lion

This combo runs similar to the above. You need to control all the permanents but Whitemane Lion and have the ability to cast said cat.

  1. Cast Whitemane Lion, triggering Flickering Hound.
  2. Target Kwia with the Houndโ€™s trigger, flickering it.
  3. When Kwia enters, Soul Warden triggers, and Kwia makes a Lotus.
  4. When Whitemane enters, bounce it with its enters ability.
  5. Crack the Lotus to recast Whitemane.

This combo basically mashes the others together, using the combination of Flickering Hound and Whitemane Lion to substitute for Emiel. Or Flickering Hound and Soul Warden to replace the Matterweaver, depending on how you view it. It also has all the results:

  • Infinite creatures entering/leaving play
  • Infinite artifact enters/leaves/sacrifice triggers
  • Infinite life/lifegain triggers
  • Infinite mana of any color

Having an infinite combo is well and good, but you need ways to win with it.

Winning With Kwia Combos

Iโ€™m assuming youโ€™re using these combos in a Kwia Vigorbloom Commander deck, so Iโ€™m restricting wincons to cards with the appropriate color identity.

Infinite Life/Lifegain Triggers

White decks typically turn infinite lifegain triggers into a win with +1/+1 counters. Cards like Archangel of Thune and Heroic Feast make your creatures infinitely large, so you can win with combat.

Aetherflux Reservoir also deserves a shout-out as a way to spend all that life. Itโ€™s also a combo engine in its own right, so you could flesh out your deck around it.

Infinite Creature Enters/Leaves

Infinite creaturefall triggers works better in red with Impact Tremors variants, but Selesnyaโ€™s far from useless. Rite of Harmony draws into your win con. Beyond that, look for cards that do other things when creatures enter. Warden of the Grove makes infinite creatures, and Radiant Solar ventures into the dungeon infinitely to drain the table.

Infinite Artifact Enters/Leaves/Sacrifice

Altar of the Brood

These colors arenโ€™t great with artifacts. Altar of the Brood gets it down by milling the table, and it works as a creaturefall payoff, but I recommend finding another path.

Infinite Mana

Infinite manaโ€™s probably the easiest thing to win with because you just need a mana sink. Finale of Devastation makes your creatures infinitely large, plus it helps assemble the combo, Walking Ballista is a classic that also enables other combos, and Gleaming Splendor works as a subtle card that you play as a ramp engine that happens to be a mana outlet.
