Last weekend, Wizards of the Coast unleashed a ton of reveals for what's coming to Magic in 2026. From Lorwyn Eclypsed‘s beautiful art to the reveal that Star Trek will be one of next year's Universes Beyond MTG sets, Magic's calendar is packed.
Although 2026 is all the hype right now, there's still one premier Magic set to go before we close Magic's 2025! Avatar: The Last Airbender will launch in November, and it's already having quite the impact on existing cards.
This week, a land-focused green enchantment is going up as much as 300% depending on the version…
… and Prismatic Omen‘s current price spike looks tightly tied to Avatar's first metalbender.
Prismatic Omen Price Spike

Until half a dozen years ago, Shadowmoor‘s Prismatic Omen saw quite a bit of play in Modern as part of Valakut and Scapeshift decks, and back then it used to cost over $20. But this green card faded from the tournament scene after 2019 and never regained its competitive punch. This, alongside a reprint in Wilds of Eldraine‘s Enchanting Tales bonus sheet, gradually pushed down its price to about $1-$2.
But the trend has reverted in the last seven days: Near-mint copies of the WOT version has bounced to nearly $3 nowadays, according to MTGStocks:

The original Shadowmoor version is also going up slightly in the last week, currently trading at about $1.80 for near-mint copies (players seem to like less than the Wilds of Eldraine version: WOT's Prismatic Omen trades about 7 copies per day on TCGplayer, while SHM versions trade less than 1 on average).
Why Is Prismatic Omen Spiking?

Prismatic Omen never regained its competitive edge in Modern (or any other MTG format for that matter), and while somewhat popular in casual Commander it's not a green card you see too often.
But that may be about to change!
Avatar: The Last Airbender has a very clear forerunner for the “Most Popular Commander” in the set, at least judging by the amount of theorycrafted decks with her in the command zone: Toph, the First Metalbender, who nearly triples the runner-up (Fire Lord Zuko).
She turns all your nontoken artifacts into lands.
Toph has already sent Terra Eternal through the roof…
… and looks like she's pulling the same pricebending trick with Prismatic Omen: more than a third of Toph's 2200+ decks pack a copy of this green enchantment.
What Will Happen With Prismatic Omen's Price?

With our usual caveat that this is not investment advice (always do your own research, folks!), as of right now there's ample supply on TCGplayer of near-mint copies for the Enchanting Tales version sitting at about $3 when including shipping, and the same happens with the Shadowmoor version (although with a lot less supply of near-mint copies). There's also a lot of supply for lightly-played copies at a lower price point.
Demand looks pretty organic, and may increase now that Spider-Man (with its lackluster reception…) is behind us and WotC will focus on Avatar‘s promotion and reveals – we've only seen about a third of TLA's cards, and given that earthbending is one of the set's core mechanics it's pretty much guaranteed that we'll see more lands-matter cards.
