Looks like leaks are abundant in Space! Last week, a reddit post leaked several Edge of Eternities cards, the majority of which were later sort of โ€œofficially endorsedโ€ by Magic Head Designer's teasers from two days ago:

And yesterday we got another EOE leak on Reddit, which we'll share right after this โ€œSpoiler Warningโ€ announcement:

SPOILER WARNING! In the sections below we'll discuss an unofficial Magic leak. Proceed no further if you'd rather enjoy Edge of Eternitiesโ€˜ reveals at their official pace (which should start next week, on July 8th).

Susur Secundi, Void Altar

According to the official Magic storyline, Susur Secundi is not the kind of world you'd book a vacation in.

Source: Reddit

โ€œOfficially, the Monasteriat welcomes all displaced persons to the sanctuary tracts on Susur Secundi,โ€  reads the Compact Me to Zero short story on WotC's official website. โ€œBut for those outside the faith who did not learn to venerate the Faller from an early age, a home orbiting a nascent supervoid offers more terror than comfort.โ€

And, according to yesterday's leak, this is how Susur Secundi looks like (when photographed with a really low-quality camera, which seems to be an unbreakable tradition for Magic leaks):

The type line says โ€œLand โ€“ Planet.โ€ It enters tapped (boo!), generates , and it's Station ability reads:

Station (12+) , , Pay 2 life, Sacrifice a creature: Draw cards equal to the sacrificed creature's power. Activate only as a sorcery.

โ€œStationโ€ is an upcoming EOE mechanic that has been officially revealed, as seen in the (also officially revealed) The Seriema.

โ€œStation Xโ€ means:

Tap another creature you control: Put charge counters equal to its power on this Spacecraft. Station only as a sorcery. Itโ€™s an artifact creature at X+.

Is This Legit?

Seems to be โ€“ although as many redditors noted, it doesn't have the EOE expansion symbol.

As noted, it does follow the time-honored tradition of being a grainy, muddy picture.

So THAT's Why Spacecraft Are Not Vehicles!

Back when The Seriema and the new Spacecraft types were officially revealed, many wondered why not just make them vehicles.

In his personal blog, Mark Rosewater confirmed that โ€œStation is not inherently tied to Spacecraft ruleswise.โ€

โ€œIt makes a bit more sense now why Spacecraft aren't Vehicles,โ€ notesu/chainsawinsect. โ€œSeems like station will be a mechanic on both lands and artifacts with similar flavor (โ€œpopulatingโ€ a planet or a ship).โ€

Is Susur Secundi Any Good?

In the current Standard format? No way. It's downright unplayable. Station works at sorcery speed, and Susur Secundi's activated ability also works at sorcery speed. And, in the current Standard format, if you have 12+ power on your board that you can leisurely tap with, why the heck haven't you already won!?

In EOE's post-rotation Standard? We'll have to wait and see more Edge of Eternities cards, of course, but there seems to be a mechanic, from another unofficially leaked card, designed to do a lot of heavy lifting for Station: Warp, as shown by Anticausal Vestige.

Source: Reddit

From what we've seen with Anticausal Vestige, Warp lets you play a permanent for a reduced cost, have it around your battlefield until your end step, then exile it (and potentially cast it later, from exile, for its full cost).

โ€œWarped creatures won't be available as blockers anyway,โ€ notes u/amish24, which makes them great targets to tap in this case. Station works at sorcery speed, but since warped creatures will stick around for your whole turn, you have enough time to tap them to Station anything you want (on top of profiting from any enter and leave trigger that the warped creature may have).

And, specifically for Susur Secundi' ability, you can tap the permanent to fuel the Station's charge counters, and then sac the creature (while still tapped).

โ€œAnticausal Vestige lets you put 7 counters on it with no loss of tempo or card advantage, and then once it's flipped, you can sacrifice it instead of letting it go to exile to draw 7,โ€ u/amish24 says. โ€œIf there's one more good warp creature with high power, I think this is very good.โ€

That's still several hoops to jump, but if you have 5 toughness on board during the first three turns (which is not that big of an ask), our Eldrazi friend here would Station and be great fodder for Susur Secundi during turn 4.

How About Susur Secundi in Commander?

Nobody is expecting Susur Secundi to overrun the cEDH scene, but it does play well with โ€œcan't attack or blockโ€ creatures, which tend to have bigger-than-average stats for their cost.

The Ancient One

โ€œYou could play this land turn 1, The Ancient One turn 2, tap it for station, turn 3 tap it for station and then sacrifice The Ancient One to draw 8 cards,โ€ notes gereffi. โ€œThatโ€™s kinda interesting at the very least.โ€

All in all, the sentiment among Magic players seems to be โ€œa lot of safety valves in this card.โ€

But until we see more cards and mechanics from Edge of Eternities (officially, one would hope!), it's hard to know how many of those valves can be circumvented.

This card seems online to be a Dune crossover. The name is close to the Imperial prison planet Swlua Secunsus where stories say the Emporers Saudakar soldiers are trained.
