Folks, we've made it. After a thrill ride of a spoiler season, it's safe to say that hype for Reality Fracture through the roof. The set is packed with tons of powerful cards for Commander, the Limited format looks exciting, and there are even a few cards that could have a serious impact on Standard.

As is now the custom, I asked our staff of experts to submit the cards they're most excited to play across formats. So let's dive in.

Tim Zaccanigno: Pia, Aether Ascetic

Pia, Aether Ascetic

Chandra's mom has got it going on. And not the in-universe Pia, Determined Rebuilder. We've seen red Pia rebuilding stuff since Aether Revolt. Like, finish the job already. No, it's Pia, Aether Ascetic I'm excited about. I love these lower rarity tutors like Delivery Moogle, Micromancer, and Grim Servant, and my Peasant brain can't help but love a universal enchantment tutor, even with its downsides. In particular, I'm excited at the possibility of ditching a big reanimation target to fetch up Animate Dead or Necromancy. And speaking of Peasant-level reanimation targets, gotta give a shoutout to the chonky Craftwork Crusher too.

Craig Maas: Aerid Konstrari

Aerid Konstrari

I'm normally skeptical about Gruul archetypes in Limited. How many Ferocious archetypes can one color pair handle? But with FRA, I think WotC has a really exciting one. The Heartwood token feels like something we should have seen before but haven't quite. It does everything you want in a Gruul a rchetype and Aerid Konstrari is the best example of that. It ramps, is a big evasive body, and gives you something to do with all that mana – pumping your entire team with artifact synergy that it creates!

Eli Weinberg: Hall of Echoes

Hall of Echoes

I won't lie, I'm particularly excited about this card because it fills a powerful yet niche role in one of my pet decks in Commander: Rosheen, Roaring Prophet. The goal is to cast Devastating Onslaught targeting Rosheen, fill up your hand with x-spells from the Rosheen clone ETBs, then cast something big like Jaya's Immolating Inferno to burn the whole table out.

The “combo” is solid at best, and the list is too tight to include legend rule disabling cards like Mirror Box…but Hall of Echoes fits into a land slot! It's going to make it so I can keep all my Rosheen clones and activate them all for a game-ending massive burst of mana.

Jake Henderson: Budding Insurgent & Darklight Phoenix

Budding Insurgent

3-mana 3/3 vigilance at common seems good. Currently there are 8 uncommon legendary enchantments, but something tells me that'll go to at least 10. Plus there are tons of non-legendary ones that are worth blowing up for. Seems kinda cool!

Darklight Phoenix

For Standard, I think Darklight Phoenix is sweet. Tons of ways to get this into the yard with recruit. I could see getting one of them in the yard  with Lake-town Lookout‘s recruit and second with the surveil from Zahur, Glory's Past or Umbral Collar Zealot.

Andrew Quinn: Craftwork Crusher

Craftwork Crusher

As a Limited enjoyer, this card has me extremely excited. My absolute favourite cards in Limited have always been the big ramp payoffs like Pelakka Wurm or Bookworm. This is the next best version of those cards and is my early pick for the mythic uncommon of the set.

Jackson Wong: Roiling Canopy

Roiling Canopy

I can't remember the last time a land made me care about a basic land type this much. Roiling Canopy turns landfall into a giant pump. I've played enough mono-green to know how fast you can get to 5 Forests, and the power of Harrow and Cycle of Renewal variants can't be said enough. This gives Standard green win conditions like Ouroboroid or Tifa Lockhart (because you choose the order of triggers) power that gets multiplied. This turns mana flood into game-finishing fuel and fewer dead draws.

Peter Smith: Frostbite Pyromental

Frostbite Pyromental

Frostbite Pyromental is a card that looks like a lot of fun. 3 mana to deal four damage and draw two cards is a great rate as long as you can actually hit your opponent with it. This seems great in burn strategies, as well as something you can return from the graveyard to the battlefield for a ton of value.

David Royale: Karn, Argent Defender

Karn, Argent Defender

Death and taxes.
