Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury (Miku, Voice of Power) | art by Jesper Ejsing
Wizardโs unbelievable quality control has struck again! One player who purchased a Goblin Storm Secret Lair deck allegedly instead received an unannounced Hatsune Miku Secret Lair deck, which they posted on ebay. The only card pictured with Hatsune herself as a reskin of the Selesnya commander Trostani, Selesnya's Voice:

At time of writing, bids had climbed to $1875. Leaks should always be taken with a grain of salt, though itโs worth noting Goblin Storm leaked months ago under the exact same circumstances: a player received it along with their Dandรขn Secret Lair:

At the moment, nothing is known about the 99 of the deckโthe only card images on the ebay listing were of Miku, with the deck pictured in a plastic package. There were also two images of Miku posters that came with the deck:

Of course, we can make a few guesses at to what the deckโs about given the commander, format, and precedents set by previous SLD precons.
Firstly, itโs important to note this is unlikely to contain 100 Miku-skinned cards; decks like Goblin Storm and Everybodyโs Invited! only had 10-12 cards printed with the marquee art, so I would expect similar from this drop.
Trostani, Selesnya's Voice is a token commander, so you can expect the deck likely focuses on that archetype, though lifegain payoffs are sure to be there, too. The cards that receive Miku art are likely to be either Commander staples like Sol Ring or archtype staples. This would follow the pattern established by previous Secret Lair Commander precons.
As to what the staples themselves could beโฆa token doubler seems likely, though there are so many to choose from trying to guess which would be a headacheโunless thereโs Miku lore that would make something like Parallel Lives a no-brainer.
If Wizards focuses on Selesnya as a guild rather than a color pair, I could see additional populate or convoke cards in the deck, like Growing Ranks, Sundering Growth, and Hour of Reckoning.
These Secret Lair drops commonly give commanders adjacent to the face commander new art, too. Rhy the Redeemed and Cadira, Caller of the Small are reasonably popular and work as alternate commanders. If the deck leans into lifegain, you could even see something like Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn.
Other Hatsune Miku MTG Cards

While this deck is sure to pique the interest of Miku fans, itโs not the first time Hatsune Miku has been in Magic. To date, there were four previous Secret Lair drops that were themed around Miku:
- Hatsune Miku: Winter Diva
- Hatsune Miku: Electric Entourage
- Hatsune Miku: Digital Sensation
- Hatsune Miku: Sakura Superstar

These have retained their value pretty well. The least valuable, at time of writing, is the Beloved Princess reprint in Winter Diva at $2.87 compared to the $0.10 this forgotten Throne of Eldraine common noramlly costs. But the prices can soar, with the Sol Ring from Digital Sensation demanding $50 and Sakura Superstarโs Snapcaster Mage reskin going for over $1000.
Nobody can ever promise a return on investment, and it would be foolish to say this upcoming deck, if real, will contain cards anywhere near this price point. But at the very least, most of the SLD commanders have maintained healthy prices, so itโs at least worth keeping an eye on this. Who knows, maybe Wizards will print enough of these that actual Magic players can get one, not just scalpers.
