We've been touching on Secrets of Strixhaven leaks for a while now, but we've finally got something official on our hands! Among a handful of spoilers released this Tuesday, we got our first peek at Strixhaven 2.0's new bonus sheet, an official look at the set's five Commander precons, and a few banger card previews. Let's check it all out!
Welcome Back, Old Friend
The Mystical Archive from 2021's Strixhaven was a bit of a revelation. It brought us our first bonus sheet in roughly 15 years, and paved the way for most bonus sheets that came later. We've entered a different era of bonus sheets, which have more of a focus on collectibility than actually blending with the themes of their associated sets, but the Mystical Archive remains the shining example of how to pull off the perfect bonus sheet.
It had stellar art, awesome reprints for people just cracking boosters (Demonic Tutor, Natural Order, Tainted Pact, Time Warp, etc.), and most importantly, it played perfectly with the main theme of the set, injecting a ton of great instants and sorceries into Strixhavenโs wonderful world of wizardry. The sheet even had Japanese versions of all 63 cards on the sheet. which appealed to a wide range of players.
Looks like we're getting round two in Secrets of Strixhaven.

English and Japanese versions of the new Archive cards will be available, and it looks like there's a sort of etched foil treatment as well. Stock Up is an excellent way to kick off the bonus sheet, I'd say!

There's also something called the Strixhaven โCodexโ which appears to use the set's Commander code (SOC) instead of the main set code (SOS). The Archive cards also have a separate set code (SOA). Perhaps these are related to some sort of new Commander Bundle?
Commander Precons

As predicted, there are five Commander precons for this set, one for each of the major schools. They feature the โall grown upโ versions of the Strixhaven kids we met last time around, with Zimone in particular making her 600th appearance on a Magic card. You can expect the following decks and themes here:
- Lorehold Spirit () โ Spirit and โleaves the graveyardโ synergies, with Quintorius as the commander.
- Prismari Artistry ( โ Spellslinger with a token-making and elementals subtheme. We already had an early leaked look at a lot of what this deck offers.
- Quandrix Unlimited () โ Described as using fractals and hydras with โvariable statsโ; sounds like an X-spell ramp or +1/+1 counter deck of sorts.
- Silverquill Influence () โ An aura/enchantment deck that forces โother creatures to fight each otherโ, whatever that means.
- Witherbloom Pestilence () โ Sacrifice, lifegain, and card draw revolving around Pest tokens.
Looks like we're running back the themes we saw with these two-color classes last time, so we're treading familiar territory with these decks.
Official Main-Set Spoilers

Elder dragon hype! Lorehold, the Historian is a nutty new take on Velomachus Lorehold, bringing back the miracle mechanic on what I imagine has to be a one-off. At the very least, it seems promising that we'll be seeing all the elder dragons from the first set again, if not more! And check out that awesome set symbol!

And who's responsible for this deranged mess of a card? I already have trouble doing combat math, now I have to do exponential algebra?? If nothing else, Mathemagics will teach people that raising something to the zeroth power always results in 1. Multiple Choice was one of my favorite cards from OG Strixhaven, and I'm happy we've found another way to poke fun at Quandrix's love of math while still making a highly functional card. What a cool design!
