Well it happened again. Another set means another leak, this one coming over the weekend at a Secrets of Strixhaven draft, where four uncommons from the upcoming Marvel Super Heroes set were supposedly opened.
Is it Legit?

With how often sets seem to leak these days, it isn't hard to believe that these leaks are real. We've had mix ups like this happen before, and these cards have all the hallmarks of being authentic. Their art and text look correct and their mechanics seem in line with the kind of card designs that Wizards of the Coast typically likes to make. At this time, there has been nothing officially confirmed about whether these cards are real. That being said, there's little reason to believe that these four cards are fakes, especially given their quality.
Potential Themes for Marvel Super Heroes

These cards point to some interesting themes for Marvel Super Heroes. First of all, there's a whole new mechanic on Agent Maria Hill: Teamwork. As for what teamwork does, your guess is as good as mine, but from the wording of the card, it seems to have a cost associated with it. It could be that some cards have a teamwork ability, or that some spells have an additional teamwork cost. There is also tapping of creatures involved, which reminds me of Convoke or Waterbending, although at this point, this is all speculation and we won't know anything about teamwork until official spoilers start coming out.

As for the rest of the cards, there are no new mechanics. However, they still hint at some interesting themes for Limited. Iron Man, Master of Machines and Thor Odinson both look to be signpost uncommons, which means they are great indicators for what each of their respective color pairs will care about in Limited. For blue red, it looks like artifacts again. It's something we see fairly often, as a theme for blue red, last appearing in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

As for white red, it's a bit harder to tell what kind of deck Thor is supporting; it could be aggro, or it could be all in on a prowess spellslinger style deck, which is interesting as white red doesn't usually get to do that. Again, we can't say anything for certain right now, and we'll know more when we know more, but this is a promising peek at the set.

Finally, there's Ronin, Shadow Stalker. This is definitely my favorite card among these four simply because it does something very unique. Usually only white and red get to care about equipment, or at least they care about it a whole lot more than all of the other colors, and it can be hard to make an equipment deck outside of those colors. Not only is this a black card that supports an equipment theme, but it also interacts with them in an interesting way, letting you sacrifice equipment that you've attached to it to kill your opponents' creatures. This also points to a potential broader equipment theme in Limited, which is always fun to have.
Why Does This Keep Happening?

It seems like every new set that releases these days has some massive leak. Granted, this leak was quite small and isolated, being only four cards all opened in the same place, but it comes just a few months after we saw all of the rares from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles leaked early because they were in prerelease kits for Lorwyn Eclipsed. In addition to some quality control issues, such as some cards in Secrets of Strixhaven having a stamp from a completely different game, it shows a pattern of slipping quality control standards.
Now, while leaks are exciting, it does steal a bit of thunder from the current set to be seeing these so early. Secrets of Strixhaven just released, but it's hard to focus on the current thing when the focus moves so quickly to the next thing on the horizon, especially with such a quick release cycle. Hopefully in the future leaks like this will be the exception and not the rule, as the constant spoiler hype train can be just as exhausting as it is exciting. Until then, I choose to be excited, and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the set when it's released in June.
