As expected, Magic's Marvel Super Heroes (which debuts today!) is the main factor in the Magic card market this week is still deep in Marvel speculation mode, but not every spike is about brand-new cards. But there's still room for an old card to show up thanks to interest in Modern.
Let’s take a look at this week's biggest movers!
Pricey Reprints in Marvel Super Heroes
Several of this week's top movers are reprints from Marvel Super Heroes Commander, like Austere Command and Clifftop Retreat.
But that's very much tied to their collectability (prices of previous prints remain flat) so we won't cover them in detail today. Just one word of advice: Cards from a new set tend to go down quite a bit as soon as the set is launched!
Scurry of Squirrels
Squirrel season is still in full swing!
A couple of weeks ago, we covered Bloodroot Apothecary spiking thanks to renewed interest in Squirrel and token-adjacent strategies, all thanks to The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.
This week, Scurry of Squirrels is the one getting chased.
This particular squirrel was already popular with existing Squirrel commanders like Chatterfang, Squirrel General and Hazel of the Rootbloom, and is was a clear enough spec that the MTG finance subreddit saw it coming days ago. Pretty straightforward synergy: The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl rewards you for putting squirrels into play, and Scurry of Squirrels (thanks to double myriad) is happy to oblige.

Started seeing some price action when The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl got revealed, and has picked up even more momentum in the last 7 days: it's an auto-include in Squirrel Girl decks, and its price has roughly tripled from $0.77 to $2.50.
Seeker of Skybreak, Still Going Strong
As we reported last week, Seeker of Skybreak had already nearly tripled in price, jumping from about $1.30 to more than $4.75.
And it has kept going!
The card peaked close to $8 earlier this week, and while it has cooled off a bit since then, it is still trading well above last Friday’s price. At the time of writing, Seeker of Skybreak sits around $6.50.

This is another spike the MTG finance subreddit saw coming. The main reason is Hawkeye's Bow, an upcoming artifact from Marvel Super Heroes. But, unlike Scurry of Squirrels, in this case the relevant MTG format is not Commander, but rather Pauper.
Green Goblin, Nemesis
Green Goblin, Nemesis seems very happy that more Marvel villains are coming to Magic!
The card has roughly doubled since last week, and the reason looks pretty straightforward: players are starting to look at older Marvel cards again as new Marvel Super Heroes legends get previewed.

In particular, there's some interest for this Rakdos villain in Loki, the Deceiver decks, and above all as part of Doctor Doom, King of Latveria decks.
Creeping Corrosion
Creeping Corrosion is the cleanest competitive spike of the week.
This green sorcery has a very simple job: destroy all artifacts. That kind of effect is never exciting until it is exactly what you need… and the current increase in price seems tied to Modern, where Creeping Corrosion is showing up as sideboard tech, especially in Selesnya Aggro decks that have had some competitive success lately.
Creeping Corrosion, single printing from Mirrodin Besieged.

It also helps that Creeping Corrosion is a fairly rare card: It has a single printing from Mirrodin Besieged, and has never been reprinted.
