Alright, what's going on here? Secret Lair comes out of nowhere and announces a new drop that only costs $1? The announcement went live on Twitter/X at 12:00pm EST, and looks like plenty of people flocked over to the SL website to get their bite of the deal.
Foil, Nonfoil — Doesn't Matter!

The “Flower Power” Secret Lair drop came completely out of left field, promised to players at a price of just $1, with a limit of one per person. This applied to both foil and non-foil versions, which include a full set of basic lands illustrated by Ashley Dreyfus. You can find it on the official Secret Lair website (while it remains in stock).

They're perfectly whimsical and silly, as we've seen in tons of Secret Lair drops before.

Of course, players had to deal with Ye Old Secret Lair Waiting Room, which means you likely sat around for a bit before you could actually check out. Players reported that the Secret Lair drop sold out within an hour of release, with wait times between 45 minutes to an hour.
And yes, for those wondering, shipping was still full price, which meant this was realistically a $10 drop. You can usually get free shipping on Secret Lair orders of $100 or more, so you were more than welcome to toss a bunch of Spider-Man drops in the cart too. In fact, this might just be a marketing ploy to pull people to the Secret Lair website and expose some of the other drops available. Whatever the purpose behind it is, it clearly worked, pulling people in and selling out in no time. Maybe that's a sign of more experiments like this to come, or maybe it was just a generous hand giving back to the community (not likely that second option though).
Note that this is part of Secret Lair's “Chaos Vault”, which is a subset of drops dedicated to unconventional themes and ploys that don't fit the scope of normal MTG products.

Yeah or you wait in line it says 40 minutes, then when it’s down to 27 minutes it goes back up to 45 minutes and you know you’re cooked
That happened to me as well. I was in line just to test it out while writing this article and it kept jumping around.
