Magic's Marvel Super Heroes releases today, which means this week's price spikes come with an extra-large warning label: Prices on brand-new cards can move a lot, usually down, in the first few days after release
A few cards may keep climbing as Commander players rush to finish the decks they've been theoricrafting, or if they find success in competitive formats. But the huge majority will very likely come down in price once more packs get cracked.
With that being said, let's take a look at this week's biggest movers!
Daughter of the Deep
Last week it was squirrel season, but looks like things have changed: Daughter of the Deep is one of this week's more straightforward tribal spikes, and the largest by far with nearly a 1000% increase in price since last week. This merfolk uncommon from Marvel Super Heroes Commander started the week under a dollar, but has picked up momentum as players look for new pieces for Merfolk Commander decks.

This merfolk noble seems popular both with classics merfolk commanders like Hakbal of the Surging Soul, and new entries from the Marvel universe like Namor the Sub-Mariner and Namor, Atlantean King.
Karolina Dean, Runaway
Karolina Dean, Runaway is one of the most interesting cards spiking this week: At the beginning of your first main phase, Karolina Dean, Runaway adds one mana of each colorโฆ but you cannot spend that mana to cast spells from your hand.
So instead of casting spells normally, Karolina pushes you toward spells cast from exile, cards played from other zones, and activated abilities.
There is already visible interest in Karolina Dean, Runaway as a commander, and the card also has some traction in the 99. One interesting connection is with Spider-Manโs Gwen Stacy, which already cares about playing cards from exile.

Doctor Strange, Surgeon
Doctor Strange, Surgeon has lifelink, doubles your lifegain, and rewards you once you are at least 10 life above your starting life total. Which has led players to brew and theorycraft with Doctor Strange, Surgeon in the 99 and The Kingpin of Crime in the command zone.

The Kingpin loves high-toughness creatures (and Doctor Strange, Surgeon is a 2/5), but above all the lifegain synergy is pretty straightforward with The Kingping's extort ability.
Doctor Strange, Surgeonโs price has cooled down a bit since yesterday, but at $2.50 it's still more than double of what it was trading a week ago.
Willie Lumpkin, Postman
Yes, the postman is spiking.
Willie Lumpkin, Postman comes from the Fantastic Four Commander deck, but there seems to be a fair bit of interest in making in making him the commander, and particularly with King T'Challa in the 99.

Scarlet Witch, Chaotic Avenger
Scarlet Witch, Chaotic Avenger appears in the Avengers Assemble Commander deck, with Captain America, Team Leader at the helm. But like in Willie Lumpkin, Postman โs case, a lot of the current interest seems to be in building Scarlet Witch, Chaotic Avenger as the commander instead.

The appeal is not hard to see. Scarlet Witch, Chaotic Avenger is an Izzet flying commander that rewards you for connecting in combat. Whenever it deals combat damage to a player, you look at the top two cards of your library, exile them face down, and then you may cast a Hero or noncreature spell from among cards exiled with Scarlet Witch, Chaotic Avenger without paying its mana cost.
In short: Free spells. Commander players have done worse things for less!
