Costco has an upcoming bundle with Tarkir: Dragonstorm Commander precons that includes a sealed TDC deck, four booster packs, and a foil promo of Gishath, Sun's Avatar. The product, dubbed a โ€œCommander Kit,โ€ has no official release date or price, though a post from a Costco employee on the r/costcomagic Reddit two months ago theorized they would drop around March. Images released by a different redditor provided a peek at what the TDC Commander Kits contains.

This isnโ€™t the first Commander Kit Costco sold; another batch featured Bloomburrowโ€™s precons. Currently, BLBโ€™s Commander Kits are listed at $46.99 on Costcoโ€™s website.

Is This Bundle Good Value?

The Tarkir: Dragonstorm bundle will contain the following products:

While each bundle can contain any one of TDCโ€™s five precons, they will always have the same booster packs and promo.

Starting with the booster packs, the combined value of all four sealed packs is $20.63, with Foundations being the most valuable at $5.99 and TDM the least at $4.57.

The Promo Problem

The Gishath, Sun's Avatar promo is hard to calculate. Currently, the promo version from The Lost Caverns of Ixalan promo packs has a market price of $10, and LCI prerelease version has an MP of $6.93; these are the closest printings to the one in the bundle. However, going off the Kaalia of the Vast promo from the Bloomburrow bundle, it will be a unique promoโ€”which might not demand a high price. The Costco Bundle Kaalia has the lowest market price of any Kaalia printing at $1.88, even lower than the Modern Horizons 3 printing at $2.78.

I presume this low price comes from high supply; if these promos are printed en masse for Costco, plenty get pumped into the market. There are other factors to consider (Gishath has fewer printings than Kaalia, yet itโ€™s a less popular commander, etc) but Iโ€™ll be conservative and guess this promo wonโ€™t exceed $2, bringing the estimated value to $22.63.

A Great Deal on a Precon

Which brings us to the Commander precons, which is where most of the value lies. The market prices vary, but none are worth less than $30:

On the lowest end with a Jeskai Striker Kit, the value is an estimated $55.50, with the best value being Sultai Arisen at $79.10, so even the lowest value kit exceeds the $46.99 price tag.

The price of the Gishath promo is extremely questionable but unimportant as the combined value of the booster packs and Commander deck would exceed the price tag even if Gishath was worth pennies. All in all, Costcoโ€™s Commander Kits contain excellent value and should be fairly easy to get once the product drops.
