Bitterbloom Bearer – Illustration by Taryn Knight
Four cards from the upcoming Lorwyn Eclipsed MTG set have been leaked on Reddit. They all look stunningly beautiful and detailed enough for us to assume all four are real. but first and foremost:
SPOILER WARNING!! HERE BE UNOFFICIAL LEAKS!!
Proceed no further if you'd like to enjoy Lorwyn Eclipsed‘s reveals only when they are officially released by WotC. You won't have to wait too long since ELC's First Look is slated around MagicCon: Atlanta on September 26, 2025, where we should get real cards and real text.
But if you don't mind an early peek, here's what Reddit found!
Bitterbloom Bearer

Yeah, the mad lads did it: Bitterblossom on a stick.
Or, well, on legs. Definitely with wings, at any rate!
Bitterblossom is one of Magic's stapliest of staples and one of the best enchantments ever printed for Commander, so a second Bitterblossom at flash speed is pretty flashy news. A 1/1 creature is a lot easier to remove than an enchantment, is harder to cast than , and the spawned token loses the Rogue creature type, but all those downsides aren't stopping players from being hyped to hell and back for Bitterblossom‘s second coming.
All the card's details, and above the art are detailed enough to be pretty certain that this leak shows a real card. Here's a sample illustration from Knight's webpage:

“I looked up the artist and their art looks just like this,” notes u/riley702, one of the many posters that checked the leaks against the artists' samples. “I guess AI is pretty good these days to make good fakes, but this would be crazy effort for some fake cards imo.”
Mutable Explorer

Another card that happens to be the second coming of an MTG staple, Mutable Explorer is a shapeshifter (and therefore a sliver… and an Eldrazi… and a dragon!), with a Mutavault on top:
“Yeah,” notes u/Cole3823, “he's a shapeshifting explorer that makes shapeshifting lands.”
And not just any land, mind you, but multi-format staple that sees a lot of competitive play.
Interestingly, WotC seems to be going for just naming the original card as the token. And, again, comparing the card's art to samples from Felicita Sala's does make this leak look like a bona fide Magic card:

Sygg, Wanderwine Wisdom // Sygg, Wanderbrine Shield

Here we get an Azorius legendary creature that has merfolk fans salivating: Sygg returns as a double-faced transforming card, which fits perfectly with the Syggs we already know: Sygg, River Guide from Lorwyn, and Sygg, River Cutthroat from Shadowmoor.
For those that weren't around the Lorwyn block, the theme is a plane that shifts between two main zones: An idyllic forest at sunny midday (Lorwyn), and a somber forest in perpetual dusk (Shadowmoor). Notice in this card how it shifts from Wanderwine to Wanderbrine.
Figure of Fable

Figure of Fable is a very clear callback to Figure of Destiny, even keeping the Kithkin creature type.
Like all other cards in this batch of leaks, the art is getting massive thumbs up from Magic players, and all the more so after Spider-Man‘s lukewarm reception.
And in this particular case, Omar Rayyan‘s style is easy to recognize, as in their Secret Lair illustration for Beast Whisper.

Are These Lorwyn Eclipsed Cards Real?

Like with any unofficial leak, you can't be 100% certain until you see the real thing from an official WotC source.
Looking at the collector numbers, these are probably the Booster Fun treatment of the regular cards, so we'll need to wait and see what's the actual art direction for this set. But, thus far, reception has been overwhelmingly positive.
“The art is great,” says u/Backwardspellcaster, echoing the huge majority of replies. “It's like the Enchanting Tales bonus, but all of the cards!”
We should get a lot more on the official First Look, scheduled to take place on MagicCon: Atlanta this coming September 26, 2025.
