If you've been paying attention to the Magic card market, you're well aware that elves are having a ball, given all the new cool toys that Lorwyn Eclipsed has brought them.
But there are two other types, which got no love from ECL, that are seeing price action thanks to cards that will be released soon: mutants, and zombies.
And a card that cares about both is going through the roof right now: Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor
Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor Price Spike
Falloutโs Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor Price Spike has been gaining a lot of traction in the last month, with a 300% price increase in the last seven days (from about $1.50 last Friday, to around $6.00 today for near-mint copies in the US market), and costing nearly twenty times what you could have bought it for 30 days ago.

Since Final Fantasy, it has gained a lot of popularity in casual Commander decks with Jenova, Ancient Calamity in the command zone.ย
And now, upcoming Universes Beyond cards from two different franchises are pushing up Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor Price Spikeโs price.
Mutant Turtles and Zombie Ghouls
Zombie commander decks have tons of options. Mutants, on the other hand, not so muchโฆ but they are about to get a lot of love in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, releasing in a couple of weeks.
And early brewers have shown a decent amount of interest of putting Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor Price Spike in the 99 of Heroes in a Half Shel decks, which is thus far the most popular TMNT commander.

But the main suspect in the meteoric rise of Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor Price Spikeโs price comes from a different IP: Fallout.
And not an existing Fallout card, but a new card that should arrive this week to players' hands: The Ghoul, Gunslinger, one of the five cards from the Beyond Vault 33 Secret Lair, expected to start shipping today.

Notably, The Ghoul, Gunslinger has been going up in price in the secondary market, and costs now about $50. He has been very well received by players, who noted how well he works with Gravecrawler loops, while content creators were quick to highlight Hancock as a good piece for Fallout's mono-black commander, on top of the flavor being 100% on point. And now around two thirds of The Ghoul, Gunslinger have Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor Price Spike in the 99, making Hancock a very demanded card.
What Will Happen With Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor's Price?

Mutant zombies seem in a pretty good spot right now. Zombies have always gotten a lot of love, and Mutants are about to get a whole set with โMutantโ written right there in the title.
And Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor, like The Ghoul, Gunslinger, works great with both types.
While this is not investment advice (always do your own research, folks!), I wouldn't be surprised if Hancock, Ghoulish Mayorโs price keeps going up: The current upward pressure seems to come from cards that players will get their hands on soon, and this week we'll pretty much guaranteed to get even more mutant and mutant-matters card revealed, as WotC previews the rest of the TMT set.
