Reality Fracture has shown us visions of what could have been, with Jace masterminding a failed rewriting of the Multiverse. Jace's plans might have fallen flat, but the Echoverse produced more than a couple exciting designs.
Green has fewer cards than other colors because it's the only color not featured in the Multiverse Reforged precon, but Wizards made up for it by juicing the cards printed in the main set. Let's find the best cards to enhance your decks.
What Are Green Cards in Reality Fracture?

Simulacrum Shaper | Illustration by Alix Branwyn
This list considers all cards with a mono-green color identity printed in Reality Fracture and its related products, like the Special Guests sheet andโฆ well, not the precon. This includes new cards and reprints.
It's worth noting that Reality Fracture contains references to other Magic cards in a move similar to Time Spiral but ultimately very different. While Time Spiral directly color-shifted cards from one color identity to another, Reality Fracture reimagines classic cards in a related color, so there aren't any color pie breaks here, just references.
Best Reprints and Bonus Sheet Cards
#2. Root Maze
Root Maze has rarely been reprinted since its Tempest debut, so it's nice to see it here, with new art, even. This stax piece works best in high-powered formats where it provides a killer tempo play against players relying on cards like Mana Vault and Grim Monolith.
#1. Tarmogoyf
Though Tarmogoyf has lost its prominence in Modern, this reprint might give this iconic beater a second chance in the sun. I'm particularly interested to see how it plays in Pioneer, which now has most of the pieces of a classic Jund () midrange list.
Best New Cards
#12. Fblthp, Knows the Way
Fblthp Knows the WayFblthp, Knows the Way is too blunt a callback to be super charming, but I like the card in a specific niche: budget multicolor Commander decks. It's a great way to ramp and fix your mana all at once if you're playing four or five colors on a budget.
#11. Way of the Paradox
Way of the Paradox is fairly narrow, but it's basically a 3-mana Explore that probably lets you play another land or two, and that's just off the empower Jace token it creates. Its triggered ability scales with multiple planeswalkers, so this could play many lands in a single turn. It looks particularly good with blue planeswalkers like Jace, the Mind Sculptor and Teferi, Hero of Dominaria that draw into lots of lands to play.
#10. Puppet Crafting
Though artifact animation is typically a blue effect, Puppet Crafting gives green a crack at it, plus it animates enchantments. Like Ensoul Artifact, expect to see this paired with indestructible lands like Darksteel Citadel or the Modern Horizons 3 bridges for an annoying threat. One that keeps coming back, even.
#9. Jiang Yanggu, Never Alone
Jiang Yanggu, Never Alone interests me when paired with cards that make tokens tap for mana, of which there are many. Insidious Roots, Springleaf Parade, Jaheira, Friend of the Forestโฆ a build-your-own Seedborn Muse isn't as good as the OG but far from useless.
#8. Carnivorous Cultivator
Carnivorous Cultivator has one of the stronger prepared spells: Enroot puts a land in your graveyard, just like Entomb for a creature. There are so many ways to play lands from the graveyard or return them to playโincluding the Cultivatorโthat this reads like an instant staple. Yes, I'd love to get Glacial Chasm or Field of the Dead on demand.
#7. Loot, the Nexus
Loot, the Nexus having 2 power makes this a much more significant threat than if it had 0 or 1 because it often taps for 2 mana. No 1-mana dork currently printed has 2 power, so any mana dork turn 1 into Loot turn 2 means you're untapping with 6 mana turn 3. That's the sequence dreams are made of.
#6. Verdant Kraken
Verdant Kraken does so much killer stuff. Making 3/3 tokens each turn is great with cards like Elemental Bond that care about creatures or token doublers like Doubling Season and the like. Oh, and they're lands, so that's 4 extra mana a turn cycle (in Commander) plus a bevvy of landfall triggers each turn to stretch the value further. Green really needed a way to trigger Tatyova, Benthic Druid every upkeep.
#5. Gardenize
If you ever looked at Black Market and wished it weren't so expensive in modern Commander, Gardenize has you covered. This is just a great mana enchantment for decks messing around with sacrifice effects. It's arguably a secret Golgari () card more so than a mono-green staple, but that nitpick won't stop you from dying when your opponent makes 3 or 4 extra mana each turn.
#4. Hexhaven Invigorator
Hexhaven Invigorator really wants to be paired with red so you can hit it with spells like Lightning Bolt to spew lands. Mono-green still works with fight spells, of course, but red's damage is just so efficient. This card's power primarily comes from finding non-basic lands. One Lightning Bolt and you have Dark Depths, Thespian's Stage, and Field of the Dead to assemble multiple threats in a single turn.
#3. Pia, Aether Ascetic
I can't quite justify Pia, Aether Ascetic as the strongest green card in Reality Fracture, but I certainly can get behind it being the most interesting because it plays with so many synergies. It's a green discard outlet that finds an enchantment. You know, like Animate Dead to reanimate the fatty you discarded. Or maybe you just start a Tortured Existence chain. but you don't even need to care about the discarded card; you could just snag a Birthing Ritual and throw Pia on the altar to find something more dramaticโฆ the possibilities are endless with this one.
#2. Simulacrum Shaper
Simulacrum Shaper reimagines Solemn Simulacrum as a slightly cheaper green creature. Considering that sad robot's greatest weakness these days is its cost, trimming a mana off might be what the template needs to become relevant, though locking it to a color means this won't get the OG's ubiquity.
#1. Garruk, Curse Breaker
Of the original Lorwyn Five, Garruk Wildspeaker aged the best because untapping lands is always relevant. I'm similarly high on the new Garruk, Curse Breaker. Garruk's Uprising has long been one of green's best draw spells. Attaching it to a planeswalker that ramps or makes its own 4/4 to trigger it is honestly disgusting. I expect this to be an instant Commander staple.
Wrap Up

Verdant Kraken | Illustration by Wayne Reynolds
Green didn't get as many cards as the other colors due to its absence from the Commander product, but the sick spells in the main set more than made up for it. From generic powerhouses to niche synergy engines, Reality Fracture has been very kind to green, and I'd love to see more cards like these in the future.
