Two weeks after release, Magic's The Hobbit crossover is still doing most of the heavy lifting in the Magic card market.

This time around, Thranduil keeps sending older elves higher, while Thorin and Smaug are busy recruiting another dwarf from the previous Lord of the Rings set. And, like in the Battle of the Five Armies, even bears are getting involved!

Let's take a look at this week's biggest movers.

Immaculate Magistrate

Thranduil, the Elvenking has already sent several older elves higher, and this week Immaculate Magistrate joins the party.

Unlike plenty of the low-supply Commander spikes we've covered lately, Immaculate Magistrate isn't particularly scarce. It debuted in Lorwyn, but has since appeared in later sets like Commander 2014 and Commander Legends.

That hasn't stopped several versions from moving upward. Near-mint copies of the original Lorwyn printing are now trading around the $4-$5 mark.

Like in the last few weeks, the mastermind behind these elves spiking is Thranduil, the Elvenking.

He's comfortably the most popular commander from The Hobbit, with more than 6,400 decks registered on EDHREC. And almost two thirds of Thranduil decks include Immaculate Magistrate.

Tyvar, the Pummeler

And speaking of tireless elves, Tyvar, the Pummeler has kept punching up.

We covered Tyvar last week, when his regular printing pushed beyond the $10 mark. At the time, the story was already split between two formats: he's seeing play as a tutorable one-of in Modern Devoted Combo decks, while also becoming one of Thranduil, the Elvenking‘s most popular inclusions.

Tyvar, the Pummeler‘s momentum remained intact this week, and his regular near-mint copies are trading for over $15!!

Glóin, Dwarf Emissary

Last week it was Gimli of the Glittering Caves. This week, Dad wants a turn.

Glóin, Dwarf Emissary, Gimli's father, is another The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth card getting a major push thanks to The Hobbit, with regular copies currently sitting around $6-$9

Glóin's best new home is Thorin, King of Durin's Folk, where more than 80% of current decks include Glóin, Dwarf Emissary. He's also in roughly 80% of Dáin of the Ancient Halls decks.

But, much like Magda, Brazen Outlaw, Glóin apparently has no strong feelings about working for the good guys, as long as there are treasures involved…

More than half of Smaug the Magnificent decks currently run a copy too.

Caller of the Claw

While elves and dwarves are enjoying the lion's share of The Hobbit‘s price action, one of the wildest movers has been because of bears: Caller of the Claw.

Caller of the Claw already has some serious competitive chops: it sees top-tier competitive play in Premodern, usually as sideboard tech in Goblin decks; and as of late it's making forays in cEDH with Tayam, Luminous Enigma in the command zone.

But The Hobbit has brought a new bear commander: Beorn the Fierce, one of the most popular The Hobbit commanders on EDHREC with almost 4,000 decks, and with nearly a third of those decks including a copy of Caller of the Claw.
