Reality Fracture has all the tools to be the set of the year: iconic characters, the culmination of a story arc, and a premise with major implications for both the story and the lore. It even has a single Commander precon.
While we know very little about the accompanying Commander product—a single deck called Multiverse Reforged—the few details Wizards has slipped us make it sound incredibly interesting. Here’s everything we know about the deck ahead of its release in October.
What Is Reality Fracture Commander?
Reality Fracture Commander refers to the cards released in the Reality Fracture Commander precon alongside the main set. There’s only one deck this time: Multiverse Reforged. It’s a 4-color deck with a Jace commander and 18 unique cards printed in the precon.
When Does Multiverse Reforged Release?
Multiverse Reforged comes out October 5, 2026, the same day as the main Reality Fracture set release.

How Much Will Multiverse Reforged Cost?
The current preorder price on Amazon is $49.99, which is the deck's MSRP. Prices can always fluctuate in the future, especially on the secondary market if the deck has lots of valuable staples and the like.
Who Is the Reality Fracture Commander Deck For?
Multiverse Reforged is for any players looking to start a Commander collection. I hesitate to call it a great product for beginners, though; more colors often correlates with higher complexity, so it might not be the best deck for a brand-new Magic player. That said, it’s hard to tell before seeing the entire deck.
Multiverse Reforged Commander and Theme
While we know exceedingly little about the deck, there’s still room to speculate.
Firstly, we know that Jace is the face commander and it’s a 4-color deck. Since Jace has his spark, this will probably be the first 4-color planeswalker in Magic.
We’ve also seen exactly one card from the deck courtesy of MagicCon Amsterdam:
For those unfamiliar, this art was actually used in the marketing for Scars of Mirrodin when Wizards teased that Mirrodin might not fall to New Phyrexia, though that’s far from the reality of the block. But Reality Fracture is all about Jace creating the Echoverse, an idealized reality without threats like Phyrexia, so the art has new life. I expect most, if not all of the 17 unique cards that aren’t Jace to be alternate-reality takes on cards like Darksteel Angel.
The description on the deck says, “Make tokens | Warp reality to power up.” Since the premise of Jace’s Echoverse is copying the Multiverse by his ideals, I’m guessing making tokens refers mostly to making token copies of permanents, as seen on cards like Rite of Replication. Warping reality might refer to the literal warp mechanic, but I find it more likely that there’s a set exclusive mechanic that plays with the idea that we don’t know about yet. It could also refer to cards that force your opponents to make odd decisions—you could spin Pramikon, Sky Rampart’s ability as reality-warping, for example.

While we know very little about Multiverse Reforged, I’m interested in how it turns out. At the very least the first 4-color planeswalker that can also be your commander gives the deck a unique feel from the command zone, though I hope it ends up being more interesting than a value pile.
