All cards from Marvel Super Heroes Jumpstart were just revealed, 185 cards in all. Among them are a myriad of legendary creatures, many of which can make for fun commanders. I've gone through and plucked one from each color (plus one colorless card) that I think make for the best commanders.

Doctor Doom, Unrivaled

Doctor Doom, Unrivaled will no doubt be one of the most popular commanders from this set. His ability is just generally good, as it essentially gives you a Phyrexian Arena in the command zone. If you have any kind of way to untap it, such as with Sting, the Glinting Dagger, you can really get ahead of your opponents. But the fun part of this commander isn't as much drawing cards as it is figuring out how to get rid of your deck to win on the spot. Leveler is always a good option, as are Demonic Consultation and Tainted Pact. Just be aware that you will draw the ire of the whole table, so make sure you have ways to protect your combo.

Nico Minoru, Runaway

Nico Minoru, Runaway has two very good abilities that let you build two wildly different decks that both feel powerful. The first ability to deal 2 damage to your opponents whenever you cast a spell from anywhere other than your hand is an effect we've seen before on Shadow of the Goblin. Having it in the command zone however means that you can usually get it when you need it. You can spend your time setting up for a big turn with cards like Arcane Bombardment or Ignite the Future, and then play out Nico when you're ready to deal some damage. Alternatively, you can build around that second ability and focus on packing your deck with as many huge spells as possible so you can get the most out of playing them for free; cards like Ulamog, the Defiler or Explosive Singularity.ย

Sauron, Dino Devotee

Sauron, Dino Devotee (no relation to Sauron, the Dark Lord) forces you to make a tough decision: Do you want to cure cancer? Or do you want to turn people into dinosaurs? Obviously the second option is correct. In all seriousness though, this does allow for some fun political decisions, something green doesn't often get to do, or it can be used to make your own creatures bigger. Either way, this card seems like a ton of fun for everyone at the table.

Reed Richards, Smartest Man

If you thought drawing one card was good, you should try drawing four cards instead. Reed Richard brings a lot to the table as a commander with his ability to quadruple your card draw. The real challenge is figuring out what kind of deck you want to build with it, as there's no real clear best direction. You could have a deck that cares about things that get better when drawing a lot of card like Proft's Eidetic Memory, Chasm Skulker, or even Sphinx's Tutelage if you're really in the mood to make people mad. You could also build a more general control deck that just uses Reed Richards as a supporting card draw engine rather than the main attraction. Whatever it is you decide to build with this card, you will feel as smart as Reed Richards when you do.

Captain America, Liberator

Equipment commanders are always a little better when they help you get the party started on their own. Searching your library for your best equipment (with mana value 3 or less) and putting it straight into play is huge for this type of deck. Firstly, because you're getting an equipment for free, you're essentially paying that much less mana for this spell, and suddenly 5 mana to cast your Commander doesn't feel so bad. There's also a plethora of equipment cards that equip themselves for free when they enter, such as Maul of the Skyclaves that will immediately turn Captain America into a huge threat. And it's easy to protect, as if you're anticipating your opponents have a lot of removal, you can just search up Swiftfoot Boots. As far as mono white equipment commanders go, Captain America is the best of the best.

Honorable Mention: The Thanos-Copter

I would be remiss if I did not mention The Thanos-Copter, perhaps the most iconic mode of transportation in all of Marvel. This is a legal commander ever since the rules update from Edge of Eternities, and so you can have this card lead your deck if you want. The Thanos-Copter is just as silly as it is good. When you play it, any vehicles you've played suddenly become threats that draw you cards when they hit your opponent. Truly, this is the mad titan's most terrifying plot yet.

Wrap Up

This list is not definitive, these are only the six cards from among the nearly 200 cards in the Jumpstart set that I think have the most potential, but there are plenty of other cards that can be your commander. Between Jumpstart and the fact that the main set has so many legendary creatures (every creature above common), we've gotten perhaps more legendary creatures than we know what to do with, so it's nice to highlight just a few that are special.
