Freed from the Real โ art by Sennsu
Official reveals for Edge of Eternities are about to finish this week, and EDH players are busy brewing with the new Commanders that the space-faring MTG set will release on August 1st.
Thus far the most popular of the bunch, according to EDHREC, is Magic's one and only lobster citizen, the legendary Ragost, Deft Gastronaut. But the one that is shaking the Magic card market the most right now is Kilo, Apogee Mind, from the Counter Intelligence Commander Precon:
Kilo, Apogee Mind is begging to be part of some broken combos, and a couple of old cards from Kamigawa are only too happy to oblige.
Aura Of Dominion Going Sky-High
Aura of Dominion, a very old blue enchantment from Champions of Kamigawa, has shot to the stars right after the Edge of Eternities Commander precons were revealed last week. It jumped from bulk-bin prices to about $2,70 between Thursday and Monday, and since then has again nearly tripled in price to over $6 in the US markets โ all in all, gaining around 850% in a single week:

Aura Of Dominion has zero competitive punch in cEDH and has thus far seen very little play in casual commander, but Kilo, Apogee Mind seems about to change that: Nearly half of the new Kilo EDH decks pack a copy of this blue enchantment.
Aura Of Dominion has a self-contained mini-combo: It taps any creature as part of the cost of its activated ability, and lets you untap any enchanted creature as the result, including the creature that Aura Of Dominion is enchanted.
Kilo, Apogee Mindโs proliferate ability triggers whenever Kilo becomes tapped, so enchanting Kilo with this Aura gives you proliferate on demand, as long as Kilo starts untapped and you have spare mana.
This is a combo that Magic players saw coming weeks ago โ now that Kilo's Commander precon has been fully revealed and there is very little risk of Aura Of Dominion being reprinted in Edge of Eternitiesโ main set, demand has shot up. And as an old card with a single print (it has never been reprinted outside Champions of Kamigawa; not even in The List), price has shot up: Average market price is around $6 in the US market, with near-mint copies now listed as high as $10 on TCGplayer and very little stock at the time of writing.

Something Old, Something Blue
Two other blue auras that let you tap and untap a creature have seen a lot of demand since Counter Intelligence was revealed, with prices starting to get upward traction.
Another blue enchantment from the original Kamigawa block, although in this case from Saviors of Kamigawa, Freed from the Real, had a huge spike in demand last week, where more than 50 near-mint copies were traded in a day (for a card that usually trades around 100 mint copies in a month):

Unlike Aura of Dominion, Freed from the Real is a fairly popular Magic card and a bit of a multi-format star: It seem competitive play both in Pauper and in cEDH, usually with Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy in the latter. And in casual Commander tables it's fairly with Yuna, Grand Summoner from Final Fantasy.
In other words, this is a card already with quite a bit of demand โ but as the graph from TCGplayer shows, now Kilo, Apogee Mind is tapping Freed from the Real on the shoulder and asking for a dance. Roughly 2 out of 3 new Kilo decks have a Freed from the Real copy, pushing the price upwards.
The story with Pemmin's Aura is almost the exact same: Somewhat popular in casual pods, quite strong in competitive Commander (again in Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy cEDH decks), very often seen in Yuna, Grand Summonerโs decks since Final Fantasyโฆ and now with Kilo entering the chat: Near-mint copies had a huge spike in demand last week, and the price is getting heated up.ย

What Will Happen With the Price of These Blue Auras?
With our usual caveat that this is not investment advice (which is legalese for โWho knows?โ โ always do your own research, folks!), a huge spike in demand in a single day often signals a buyout (that's to say, somebody grabbing all the available copies and drying the market). Freed from the Real and Pemmin's Aura are solid cards that see competitive play (and in Freed's case, in more than one Magic format), but the spike in demand may not be organic here.
Kilo, Apogee Mind is a fun commander, but it doesn't seem anywhere near as popular as what we've recently seen with Final Fantasy.
That being said, there's definitely a lot of upward pressure on these blue auras.

Honestly this combo makes super friends viable. To me it basically reads, “add loyalty counters to all planeswalkers equal to your mana.”
