Are ya ready, kids? They say that reality often surpasses fiction. Well, in two weeks it will be time for reality to surpass the meme, at least in Magic: SpongeBob SquarePants will come to a Secret Lair near you on March 24.

Yes, that SpongeBob. And, no, this is not a joke!

The Secret Lair ร— SpongeBob SquarePants collection is divided into three sets:

  • Legends of Bikini Bottom,
  • Lands Under the Sea
  • Internet Sensation

Secret Lair ร— SpongeBob SquarePants: Legends of Bikini Bottom

Illustrated by Caleb Meurer and Gregg Schigiel, Secret Lair ร— SpongeBob SquarePants: Legends of Bikini Bottom reimagines Bob & Co. as with alternate art for seven Magic staples, from everybody's favorite sea sponge as Jodah, the Unifier to Gary, the Snail as Toxrill, the Corrosive.. Just when you thought Toxrill couldn't get any more toxic. There's even a Barktooth Warbeard shout out here, with highly appropriate flavor text.

Secret Lair ร— SpongeBob SquarePants: Lands Under the Sea

Secret Lair ร— SpongeBob SquarePants: Lands Under the Sea dives under the wave and, through Jon Vermilyea's vision, shows the five Magic lands as Bikini Bottom, Rock Bottom, Jellyfish Fields, and Kelp Forest. Oh, and there's Rock Bottom from that Season 1 episode, appropriately named Rock Bottom. Expect this to be the least popular of the three Secret Lairs, though the people who really want these basics are going to need a lot of them.

Secret Lair ร— SpongeBob SquarePants: Internet Sensation

Bob & friends have drowned the web with memes, and Secret Lair ร— SpongeBob SquarePants: Internet Sensation pays homage to this memetic inspiration through the art of Tyler Walpole. Wizards of the Coast clearly understood the assignment here, leaning into the already goofy idea of a SpongeBob crossover by giving people cards associated with well-known internet memes. Imagine getting Counterspell by someone and having them say: โ€œNoPe, tHaT dOeSn'T ReSoLvE!โ€

According to The Collider article that broke this news, the SpongeBob SquarePants Secret Lair drops will be available in regular ($29.99) and foil ($39.99) editions. Find them on MagicSecretLair.com at 9 AM PT on March 24! Now if only there was a Handsome Squidward cardโ€ฆ.
