Edge of Eternities is riiiiight around the corner, and players are already starting to take note of most busted synergies in the set. Many have been crafting the quickest ways to win with the incredibly named Dawnstar, Sunsire Dreadnoughtโ€˜s hilarious ability, while others have taken note of how scary it is that Strip Mine is in Limited.

Shoot, there's even a near-infinite that makes a mathematically absurd number of tokens. Although Screaming Nemesis and Dawnstar, Sunsire Dreadnought can definitely get you there, it doesn't go infinite.

Well, the theorycrafters have, in fact, prevailed. A new infinite is on the horizon, and you can play it in both Standard and Limited.

So What's The Combo?

Haliya, Guided by Light โ€“ art by Kieran Yanner

First thing to know is that the combo is in Rakdos, although it can be modified to have some Mardu synergies too (more on that later).

Executing the combo is fairly simple, and there are a couple courses of action you can take in the event a piece gets removed. If you pull it off, you can win the game with either infinite gain and drain, or infinite ping damage.

It all starts with an uncommon Cleric that's sure to become a multi-format all-star: Umbral Collar Zealot

They Power Crept Viscera Seer!

Viscera Seerโ€ฆan ultimate classic. However, in 2025? We've got crazy new toys to play with.

10/10, banger card. It does cost a whole additional manaโ€ฆBut! While surveiling can sometimes be less optimal than scrying, it arguably opens up more gameplay avenues. Regardless of any of that, we're only going to be using Umbral Collar for his sac ability, and we're ideally casting him on turn 2.

Voidborn or Weftstalker?

Shoot, I guess this combo can be Mono-Black if you want. You could easily warp this thing in on turn 1 so you can keep it in exile until the combo is ready. You'll want to play it by turn 3 at the very least. Looks like they have Blood Artists in space!

Would you look at that, they threw an identical effect in Red. Weftstalker Ardent is a perfect alternative here, could end up being a wise move in Limited.

The Most Important Step

For this vital step, you'll need 2 Black mana and 2 of any other color and 2 copies of this seemingly innocuous Horror: Perigee Beckoner. You can also theoretically hard cast these options, but that seems like a far less optimal option.

Cast the Beckoner for its warp cost and target another creature you have in play, let's say Weftstalker Ardent. The next action we take is where we seal the deal.

Cast your second Beckoner, targeting the first Beckoner. If you can resolve that second Beckoner, and if your oppo has no interaction, you have now created a situation where you can infinitely sac your Beckoners. You're utilizing their โ€œwhen this creature dies, return it to the battlefield tapped under its owner's controlโ€ abilities by saccing one at a time. This will infinitely trigger either your Susurian Voidborn or Weftstalker Ardent for infinite drain/gain or damage!

The TLDR

This combo absolutely wrecks, and it's viable in both Standard AND Limited. I don't think this one fits into Rakdos Lizards, so I'm way curious to see if it inspires something new in the format!

  1. Get Umbral Collar Zealot on the field.
  2. Get either Susurian Voidborn or Weftstalker Ardent on the field.
  3. Cast Perigee Beckoner targeting a creature you control, then cast another Perigee Beckoner targeting the first one.
  4. Infinitely sacrifice your Beckoners to your Zealot to eviscerate your opponent with drain/gain or damage!
