For all the valid criticisms of Magic Arena’s economy, there are a generous amount of free items you can receive, whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been jamming on Arena since its Beta release.

There are plenty of Arena codes given out to players, sometimes digitally, sometimes physically in the form of pre-release kit codes. Either way, let’s make sure you’re up to speed on how to actually redeem those codes once you’ve got them.

Let’s crack this code, shall we?

Redeeming codes can be done in two specific ways, either from the Arena store on the app itself, or online via your account with Wizards of the Coast. Note that code redemption isn’t possible on Arena’s mobile app at this time. Check here for our comprehensive list of redeemable codes here.

Redeem Codes Through Magic Arena

1. Open Magic Arena from your desktop and click the Store tab in the top left corner.

Store Tab

2. Type your code in the “Code Redemption” box in the top right corner, just under your vault/messages.

3. Press enter, and a message should appear saying “Redeem Code Success” with an image of your rewards on-screen. The rewards should pop up immediately; if you don’t see them, try checking your inbox.

Redeem Codes Online

1. Visit Your username and password should match the ones you use to log into Magic Arena.

My Accounts Log In

2. Once logged in, locate the “Redeem a Code” box on the right-hand side, and type in the code you plan on using. Click Redeem and green highlighted text appears saying “code redeemed successfully.”

3. If a red error box appears and says the code failed to redeem, double check the spelling on your code. If it’s a number/letter code like the ones included in pre-release kits, double check each digit. These specific codes use the number 0 but never use the letter O, which may cause some confusion.

4. Upon logging into Arena, the item(s) you unlocked should pop up and be added to your collection. If you already had Arena up when you entered the code, you might need to log out and log back in.

How to Redeem MTG Arena Codes on Mobile

Note that you can’t redeem codes through Magic Arena’s mobile app, so you’ll have to pull up the official Wizards page to redeem a code from your phone. This is essentially the same process as redeeming a code via desktop, but the code box is located in a slightly different spot. Again, you can find a comprehensive list of codes here.

1. Visit

2. Instead of locating the Redemption box in the right-hand corner like you would on desktop, scroll down until you find that same box.

3. Enter your code and click Redeem, then your reward should automatically pop up on Arena (again, this might require a reset if Arena was already open).

That’s it, folks. To summarize, you can input codes on the Arena store through the app if you’re on desktop; otherwise, you can use your official account page to input codes through Wizards of the Coast’s website. Don’t pass up on the freebie codes either! No sense leaving free value on the table.
