Through a collaboration with several Magic content creators, Wizards of the Coast has revealed seven of the cards from its upcoming โEveryone's Invitedโ Secret Lair Commander precon.
The exact date when this Commander deck will be available for purchase is still a bit of a mystery, although some clues point to next Monday the 14th. Seven cards, including the deck's very likely commander, have been revealed โ and some of them are sure to raise some eyebrows!
Reinvigorate With the โEveryone's Invitedโ Secret Lair Commander Deck

Bitterblossom โ Illus. Olena Richards
From what we know thus far, โEveryone's Invitedโ is a five-color Commander deck that is being revealed one card at a time by well-known MTG content creators.
Manacurves announced it on their BlueSky account last week โ without knowing exactly what the reveal was about. Seven cards have been revealed at the time of writing.
Here are all the cards shown thus far!
Morophon, the Boundless

Source: Reddit
One of the top #100 most popular commanders according to EDHRec, and among the best five-color commanders in the game, Morophon, the Boundless makes it clear that โEveryone's Invitedโ is going to be a five-color deck, and very likely focused on changelings and shapeshifters (which are not exactly the same, by the way: not all shapeshifters have the changeling ability).
We don't know yet if Morophon will indeed be the face commander, but it's the only card that could fit the role from what we've seen thus far.
This Morophon, the Boundlessโs art has gotten a lot of positive comments, but the main question is, what will the mana base look like for a 5C precon like this?
โIt will now be very interesting to see what wizards considers an adequate 5C mana base for a premium product such as this,โ notes u/ItsSanoj. โAre there going to be any good land cycles reprinted? I doubt we'll see fetches or shocks, surveil lands or triomes.โ
Morophon, the Boundlessโs also a somewhat pricey card; the cheapest copy you can find sits at $5 bucks, and premium versions can fetch a lot more.
Sol Ring

As it's practically mandatory for every Commander precon, we've got a Sol Ring!
There's nothing this ubiquitous mana rock can tell us about the deck itself (since, like, it's in every EDH deck), but the art reinforces the shapeshifter/changeling aspect that Morophon, the Boundless heralds.
Raise the Palisade

Source: Reddit
This one has raised quite a few eyebrows, as it's the first time we'll see Raise the Palisades after its original outing in The Lords of the Ring Commander.
โI would love to see a more accessible reprint,โ notes u/Slant_Juicy, โbut itโs nice to see a card from a Universes Beyond set get a reprint of any sort.โ
A great one-sided board wipe for any deck that's heavy on changelings, this blue sorcery is also moderately expensive: the cheapest copy sits at about $8 nowadays, and a Secret Lair reprint is unlikely to bring the price down.
Bitterblossom
Manacurves got to reveal this precon's most expensive reprint yet: The infamous Bitterblossom, which you are unlikely to find for less than $15 by current prices.
This black enchantment has also received high praise for its art, and strongly hints at another of โEverybody's Invitedโ angles: token generators.
Taurean Mauler, Tendershoot Dryad, and Avenger of Zendikar

Source: Reddit
Taurean Mauler, Tendershoot Dryad, and Avenger of Zendikar round up the batch of revealed cards.
The Mauler's art sees this red shapeshifter as the party's DJ (although the flavor text has caught a bit of flak on reddit). Tendershoot Dryad and Avenger of Zendikar reinforce Bitterblossom's go-wide angle.ย
Will the Party Start Next Week?
Source: Secret Lair
WotC has not yet formally announced when will the โEveryone's Invitedโ precon will go on sale, but there's a very strong clue. Promo from another Secret Lair, Our Boss Is On Vacation, shows a calendar with the words โINVITE EVERYONE TO THE PARTYโ for April 14 (that's Monday next week).
While nobody has confirmed it officially, that's our best guess so far.
What other cards do you think this Commander precon will include? Let us known in the comments!
