Secrets of Strixhaven Novel
Del Rey Books is adding a pair of Magic-themed preorder incentives to Strixhaven: Omens of Chaos, the upcoming Magic: The Gathering novel by Seanan McGuire, scheduled to release on April 7, 2026. The first-printing hardcover includes an exclusive Command Tower promo card with new Strixhaven-themed art, while readers who submit proof of preorder through the official promotion page can get a physical Batwing Brume art print by Bryan Sola and digital Chance for Glory wallpapers by Andrew Mar.
Proof-of-Preorder Collectible

The proof-of-preorder promo is clearly aimed at collectors and art fans, and it gets you a Batwing Brume art print illustrated by Bryan Sola (of Adeline, Resplendent Cathar fame), and a digital wallpaper of Chance for Glory illustrated by Andrew Mar, another very prolific MTG artist.
And a confirmed reprint of Chance for Glory and Batwing Brume is interesting news (the proof-of-preorder promo are just art pieces and not actual cards you can put in your deck, but according to the announcement both cards will be part of an upcoming Secret Lair drop). Chance for Glory, which is pretty strong in cEDH, has never been reprinted. And Batwing Brume, which has only been reprinted twice, costs well over $5.
There's fine print, though! According to the official promo page, the proof-of-preorder offer is open from March 23 through April 7, 2026, while supplies last. It's limited to U.S. residents age 18 or older with a U.S. mailing address. You get the digital wallpaper immediately, while the site asks about five weeks for the physical art print to arrive by mail.
Hardcover Command Tower
The novel’s first-edition hardcover is where the real gameplay promo lives. The book’s first printing includes an exclusive Command Tower with all-new Strixhaven artwork from Constantin Marin, who's a pretty good fit: Marin usually illustrates lands, and specifically has two other Command Tower illustrations in their portfolio.

(In the odd case that you may somehow have wandered into a Command Tower paragraph without having played Commander, the card is one of the format’s staple lands: it taps for one mana of any color in your commander’s color identity, which is exactly why it shows up in pretty much every Commander deck out there, and is one of the most reprinted cards in Magic's history.)
Wrap Up

The hardcover offers a recognizable Commander staple in Command Tower, while the proof-of-preorder campaign adds a more display-focused bonus built around Batwing Brume and Chance for Glory: A pretty neat split between stuff you can play with, and stuff you can collect.
