[Solved] All Solutions to The Hobbit Riddles on MTG Arena

What starts with “S” and ends with “it”? Some riddles from MTG Arena's adaptation of The Hobbit! MTGA is running back a series of riddles similar to what they did for Murders at Karlov Manor, which is basically a ticket to some free goodies on Arena. We've got all the solutions in one place, so make sure you get them before they expire (or before Gollum solves them first).

How to Input Answers

You should have the first riddle in your Arena inbox already from August 18, and the messages seem like they expire about a week after receiving them.

Once you have an answer to the riddle, go to the Arena Store on desktop (or your Wizards Account on mobile) and input the one-word answer (not case sensitive).

You should get a pop-up that says “Redeem Code Success” plus a reward. These cards and styles will be automatically added to your collection, and from there you should receive another message in your inbox with the next riddle.

Riddle #1

What has roots as nobody sees, Is taller than trees,

Up, up, up it goes. And yet, never grows?

Riddle #2

Thirty white horses on a red hill

First they champ, then they stamp, then they stand still.

Reward: Gnashing of Teeth card + card style

Riddle #3

Voiceless it cries, wingless flutters

Toothless bite, mouthless mutters.

Reward: Velvetwing Butterflies card + card style

Riddle #4

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,

Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.

It lies behind stars and under hills,

And empty holes it fills.

It comes first and follows after,

Ends life, kills laughter.

A box without hinges, key or lid.

Yet golden treasure inside is hid.

Alive without breath,

As cold as death;

Never thirsty, ever drinking,

Riddle #7

The thing all things devour;

Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;

Grinds hard stones to meal;

Slays kings, ruins towns;

And beats high mountain down.

The Final Riddle

The final riddle asks you to build a deck using all of the cards you recieved from the previous riddles. You must name this deck “Riddles In The Dark”.

You can copy the “decklist” above and import it as a new deck for convenience. After adding this deck to your collection, you should get one final message in your inbox. I was able to do this without specifying a format for the deck and changing the name on my Decks tab. I also didn't change the basic lands at all so it seems those don't matter much.
